Hello once again!
This time I'd like to know your opinions about hosting and hosting services. As I mentioned in my last thread, I want to move on .com (or maybe something else, depending on your advice) and I want to know which one of these domains are better to use and why and what kind of service do you use? I'm just confused: it seems that they're all the same!
Thank you.

Hey Steve,
You should introduce yourself in the Yakezie challenger thread and update your signature with your website and social network links!
To answer your question, I would suggest go with .com.

I agree, dot com – shorter the better.
For hosting, I started out with WebHost4Life on a recommendation from a family member. They were bought out and service went south. I would certainly NOT recommend them now.
There are a lot of hosting comparison services out there if you search. Since I am using Joomla, I looked for a host that was used to dealing with Joomla sites. I switched to HostGator last December, mainly due to their US based support (a plus for me but maybe not for non-US folks), knowledge of Joomla and pricing structure. I have been extremely pleased with them so far.

Hey Steve,
I definitely suggest the switch .com, should make it easier for your readers to remember your domain. I'm also on HostGator and am very pleased so far, in case that helps.
Good luck with your blog!

I am using bluehost. I had some downtime already in the first 2 months, so I wasn't too happy with that. I have seen a lot of people say positive things about hostgator

I would go with dot.com as well. It's more widely known at the moment.

Go with .com. My host is iPage and they are pretty good actually. There is some downtime occasionally, but they have an excellent 24/7 service center – by way of phone or instant chat.

I'm thoroughly in like with Hostgator. (aff link)
Dreamhost has reliability problems.
I've never done anything with Bluehost.
GoDaddy belongs in the redlight district of hosting. It sucks.

I would recommend hostgator as well with a .com site. For some reason Google really likes .com sites.

I definitely think you should go with a .com address. Also, I recommend Host Gator as well. I knew nothing about websites, but I had no problems setting up a few of them already. The price and customer service are great as well, and they are very reliable!
Oh, if you use the coupon code "KNSFINANCIAL25" (no quotes), you'll save 25%!

I'm on InMotion (http://freefrombroke.com/go/In…..ebHosting/ – aff link)
Though a lot of the lower cost hosts look the same, some are better than others. Try to read up on the hosts and ask questions.

Steven,
Seems like you should tell everyone your site? Regardless of whether it is not self hosted. Does anyone know his site?

You gotta go with I-page and stick with .com even if the domain name kind of sucks. Google could care less about your domain name, has zero SEO purpose these days.

Another happy on HostGator. I am a huge supporter of moving to a .com as quickly as possible.

I just recently switched to HostGator and really like their service and 24/7 easy chat access. Pricing was quite good. You can get discount by paying upfront for longer time but you can cancel at any time and get your money back for unused months. They transfered my site from another provider at no cost and it worked flawlessly. It was done in a few days over the weekend.
