Hey all,
I have searched through the forum's history and I don't think this has been covered. (forgive me if it has).
I am putting the finishing touches on my first ebook (yay!) and I am curious how some of you set up a system to use the ebook to get subscriptions. I want to see a huge boost in my subscribers and after (countless) hours of work, I am close to the end of finishing this ebook. But, I don't know how to set it up that those who subscribe get a free copy of my ebook.
I would like to use my feedburner account, but there doesn't seem to be a second email option (to send them the link to download the ebook once they activate their link). Am I missing something? I want to avoid inputting in the activation email because some people may not activate if they get my ebook without having to activate.
Would I have to create a landing page page of sorts to host for my ebook? If this is the case, is there any way to automate this? Is seems like there should be.
I appreciate your thoughts on this. I hope you are prepared for my ebook!

Good for you with the e-book.
If you're concerned about people getting the e-book without subscribing, then make sure that you benefit even if they send it to a buddy. Have lots of links back to your site, especially to posts that have affiliate links in them. If your affiliate program allows it, put the affiliate links directly in the e-book.
When I get mine ready to go, I'll be putting my link in the welcome e-mail for my newsletter.

Great tips. Thanks. I have included several links to articles, but I will check about affiliate links before I publish it.

You could just make a page in Wordpress that is hidden from your site navigation. Get a plugin to put messages in your RSS footers so only subscribers would get the link.

No problem! I just did both things separately – I made a page to talk about FINCON11 that I didn't want in my menus, so I made it hidden. Then I sent a secret code to all my RSS subscribers for the giveaway I'm hosting tomorrow. Both worked very well and weren't hard to do. :)

Okay, I did all of those things, but I can't see the RSS footer. Would you be able to offer any advice? Thanks

Corey, you need to have a new post to really refresh the feed. It won't "usually" work on old feed posts. If you post a new article it should show up on older articles as well.

Okay, I will try that. I needed to announce the publishing of my ebook anyways. :)

Not really. This ebook is intended to increase my subscriptions, not to sell. We'll see if this happens. :) My second ebook, which is in the planning phase will be more extensive and I plan to try and sell that one for a fee.

Yes, I looked into that. Unfortunately I can't afford that right now. Hopefully my site will grow to a point where I can provide that kind of quality service.
