Earlier today, I was thinking about how I'll handle posts while I'm gone to the Financial Blogger Conference. I'd like to schedule a roundup of posts from people who aren't attending so my readers can keep you guys company until I get back. :) Of course if anyone would just love to do a guest post, I'd love those too, but I thought a roundup would be a nice way to highlight posts from other sites.
So if you aren't going, first of all I'm sorry I won't get to meet you (!) and second, post here so I'll know who to link to while I'm away.

I won't be going either. :( Not this time, at least. I'd be happy to entertain your readers, although your humor will be hard to live up to.

LOL! It's not that hard; just stay up way too late writing, get up early in the morning, and let your inner snark out for all the world to see!

I'm not going to the conference. I'd love to, but I won't be there.
Please include me in the roundup. …and if you have a particular preference on a topic, I'd love to shoot over a guest post!
Thanks and have fun!

I wouldn't mind trying to entertain your readers with any of my posts Andrea. Thanks to a LOT of people who have fallen behind this year, I will be spending that weekend in the office doing their taxes rather than attending

We're expecting our first child around that time, we're not heading to Chicago. Best times to all that do though!

My wife and I are going on a trip so I won't be able to attend. Our trip was scheduled before I really started blogging otherwise I would probably go since Chicago is close enough to drive.

What a nice idea, Andrea. I have also been trying to decide how to handle posts while I am gone. I have purposely not announced on the site that I am going as I haven't wanted to announce to the world that I'd be out of town ("Hey burglars, now is your chance!")… I suppose that is paranoid since I will have a house/pet sitter staying there but I still worry about sharing *too* much info online. I don't even announce my vacations on my personal Facebook page until after I have returned.
I like your idea of a round-up while you are gone. I am curious how other FINCON attendees will be handling things while they are gone. Will you be telling your readers where you are going prior to leaving, or will you wait until you return and announce it? Will you schedule posts as you always do, or will you choose topics relating to the conference while you are gone?

If we were going we would produce and schedule posts according to our regular schedule for that period. Sure, you may not comment right away, but so be it. I'm sure readers will forgive and forget :)

I think since there are quite a few sites, I'm going to divide them up and feature a few of them every day. I'm leaving on Thursday, so I'll probably do some on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday. I took Monday off work so I can rest and start working on post-conference posts.
I don't mind telling people I'm going. Someone will be at my house at all times while I'm gone, so I'm not too worried. I do understand, though – any time I leave my house empty, I don't say a word on FB until I get back!

I am going to write about it after I return. I don't like the idea of announcing that I will be out of town and my home will be empty for a few days! I actually wrote about that and a few other issues like that a while back: http://knsfinancial.com/identi…..-facebook/

I'm not planning on changing much. I'll make sure to have posts scheduled for Friday and Monday and that's it. It's not like it's a 2 week conference.

Won't be there. I wish someone would figure out how to be two places at once.
