I keep seeing my Alexa ranking get better and better, so I figure some of that has to come from my fellow Group 2'ers.
I'm also trying to get better about Twitter and re-tweeting and such. Somehow I've built up a pretty big following (800+) so it's time to invest more time in leveraging that. What better way than to spread some Group II love? :)

My guess is that the teams reset for winter in November? I think we've been doing 3 months as the standard. It's really a great thing and it's been helping the Alexa tremendously. All you have to do is visit the sites once a day and comment at least once a week. then you can submit to Digg and vote up on Reddit etc.
@KNS Thanks for mentioning the new URL! I forgot to tell the team to update that.

Shoot, I missed this back in September. What will be the date for when the winter teams start? I want to make a big push over the next 3 months and will be adopting a 3 post per week schedule on M-W-F a la Derek. I like the team concept and want to make sure that I can get in for winter. I have been motivated by all your posts regarding the conference. Thanks a bunch for the information. Too bad I couldn't go, but maybe next year.

I totally agree with this – all of the small groups I've been a part of have helped me quite a bit!

While I am not seeing as many comments as I was in the summer, I still find this very valuable, and my Alexa ranking is definitely going down.
I have one problem, though, and I'm turning to the others in the groups for advice. One of the blogs in our group has in the past been financial with the occasional religious post. I'm good with that. I understand religion as a tool some people use to help with their personal finances. However, this evening when I opened all my group blogs, the financial blog no longer seems to exist. It goes straight to a purely religious blog.
I don't intend to remove the blog from my fall list, so I'll still click on it every day, but I am not going to comment, not even once a week, on religious postings. If there is a post about personal finance, I will do my best to comment on it, but I honestly have nothing useful to say on posts titled "Day Five – Seven Days of Worship" with nary a PF post to be seen. (Well, maybe I do have something useful to say, but I don't believe in pushing my spiritual beliefs on people who aren't asking for them, and I really don't believe that Yakezie is the proper forum for it.)
Does my plan seem reasonable to other people? Am I the only one flumoxxed by this?

I think I read something about new November teams? Count me in please!
Thanks!

I would suggest trying to contact the blog owner through e-mail or a contact form which most sites have. Just explain that you've noticed that they seem to have moved focus away from the PF side of things, and is this the direction that they're taking? If so, just let them know that you feel it's best to disengage, and wish them the best of luck. If they do want to stay with their foot in the PF waters, maybe your note will remind them to put some focus back on that side.
The way I look at it is that we're sort of volunteering to help one another get exposure and better rankings, but we certainly don't have to do so at the expense of our comfort level or beliefs. Sounds like you're approaching it very respectfully, which is commendable.

I totally agree. I have gotten to know more bloggers than I probably would have and am building some great new friendships. I am all for keeping these going. Are we starting new groups in November?

I have to apologize to my Yakezie Fall team. Between FINCON and ad campaign time commitments, I've been a bad team member. I'm going to visit all of you today.

We definitely need to keep it going. I know that Suba put a lot of time into organizing the Fall Teams. For this reason, I would be fine with holding off until December or January to put together new teams (but I am flexible).

Yeah I was gone for two solid weeks so I missed quite a bit, I've been catching up the last two weeks. I would love to keep this going, I've seen a nice drop in Alexa and it's nice to get to 'know' the other bloggers!

I'm still seeing a benefit as far as my Alexa ranking. I haven't posted much on FGSW in the last 2 weeks (I didn't want to announce that I was at the conference until I got back), so I can't blame anyone for not commenting there.
I think we should keep the same teams until after Christmas – I'm sure things will get hectic with giveaways and vacations!

I'm all for keeping the existing teams for now. I know many of us got really busy in the last few weeks, and are only now getting back in the swing of things. At the very least, maybe we hold off until early December, but my vote would be for January sometime.

I noticed this too, and was sort of wondering if maybe the site was hijacked, because I thought the url changed too. Have you contacted them? If not I'll give it a try.

I'm in the same group and I just removed the blog from my list. He changed the name and the focus and I don't see any participation.

I'm loving it. A huge shout out to Suba for the set up. I enjoy getting to know specific bloggers in depth and would like to continue until I've been on a team with all!!!!
Thank you!!!
@Money beagle-My opinion, don't comment on religious blog if you're not into it!!! No pressure to do anything you don't want to !! Plus Yakezie is personal finance and lifestyle sites! A bit of religion is is fine-but it also needs to have the pf focus as well!!!

Bumping this up to get a few views and serve as a reminder to help your groupmates out.
If you're part of a group, PLEASE remember to give some Alexa love to your teammates. My ranking improved quite a bit when the new groups were announced, but I've been drifting down a bit over the last week. I don't know if I'm the only one but I figure it's worth a reminder to all to make sure to give your teammates some help as better Alexa rankings for everybody help the entire group. I have a Group2 folder that I open at least five times a week where I navigate to a few webpages for each of my teammates. I'm going to keep doing that. Hopefully that's helping!

I am with you MoneyBeagle, I try to get to everyone's site on Team II at least once a week. I must confess that I could be commenting more. I will make the effort to step it up.
Also, I have seen my Alexa rank improve, I am about to break 300K and my site only launched in late July, so that's pretty good (i think…) I definitely want to be in the next round of teams.
