I am fine with 12-15 per group. I was thinking though, instead of having the groups completely random this time, maybe like sites should be grouped with similar sites where possible (so investor blogs with investor blogs, deal blogs with deal blogs, general pf with general pf, debt with debt, etc.) That way we might have more to say on the topics.
I disagree. I think one of the best benefits of these groups is to link with blogs we normally don't- to get out of our comfort zone. I think we should keep them random like before.
I agree w/ Miss T on this one. I already know i'll visit her site and she will visit ours. We have a great relationship and the goal of this exercise, at least for me, is to get to know other Yakezites better.

Jackie,
I thought about it. Because I find it really hard to comment on investing blogs for example. I know very little, all I could say was "oh I never knew that" or "Nice post" (haha!) but I think we have already grouped similar blogs by ourselves. So this would be redundant. Plus instead of simplifying things I thought it would complicate it. I write about general pf which sometimes include debt and deals. It will become difficult to classify blogs that are not >90% on the same topic, which I think only a few blogs do.
I personally think random will give more exposure to all the blogs. But if everyone feels this could be better. We can do the groups that way.

Thanks Matt!
I also agree with Miss T. I would find it interesting to be grouped with people who aren't familiar with my site and my style (and vice versa). Plus, keeping the all of the same-type blogs may get a little boring, as someone who writes about investing may want to read about other subjects such as debt or frugality. I know I wouldn't want to be grouped with a bunch of accountants who write about taxes all the time after working 8 hours in that environment!

While it is a good thought, I tend to agree with Miss T, Suba, and Eric. I think it would be a great way to form new relationships; not to mention significantly easier for Suba to organize into groups.

Just signed up. Pure genius idea for commenting groups. Big thanks to Miss T for bringing it to my attention.

I really like the idea of having 10-12 in one group.
I also agree about it being hard to comment on investing blogs, being I know nothing, but I have to say I did learn a lot this summer. But I don't want similar type blogs together in groups. I liked being in a mixed bag, so to speak.

Doesn't matter which group I am in, I will learn from other blogs equally. Widening our wisdom even cooking recipes help…

I'm in again! I really have no preference on group size and/or blog topic. I'm just looking forward to getting to "know" another group of bloggers!

I agree with Miss T, I like the variety.

I also like the random. I learn things from the investment bloggers, and do my best to comment on that. Since I think part of their goal is to teach non-investors like me, I figure its valuable to them, too.
15 blogs is doable. I certainly love getting more traffic to my site, but sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming. I think 12 might be pretty ideal.
I can understand the arguments for smaller groups in order to form closer bonds, but I think that would create too small a group of commentors and might limit (not intentionally, but we tend to respond to our commentors) what people talk about. I know I was inspired a few times by the posts of other members of my group to write about things I normally wouldn't have thought of.

I am looking forward to be grouped with bloggers covering varying topics. I think we will learn a lot from each other. I am good on the financial planning and investment side, but no so much on the frugal living, eco-friendly or smaller-town related blogs, (I live in NYC). Would be great to connect with investment and economic sites as well as my weaker topics.

I'm in, though I kinda feel bad for any diehard PF blogger that has to read my blog. I'm still a PF blogger but am trying to lure in the 20-something ladies who think PF isn't for them by making it look approachable with crafting, fashion and nerdy Hello Kitty. (and it's worked, a former sorority sister said she now better understands her credit score but came for the promises of cuteness and scarf patterns)
I promise there will be more serious PF stuff soon!

I just signed up! Will there be a link to the fall group lists tomorrow? I could only find the summer spreadsheet and the fall signup form.

Our site would be a good fit for a guest post FB. You've described our demographic well. We also get a lot of traffic from the 35-49 crowd (female).

I typically, on my lunch hour, open up all the sites, give a couple of clicks, and drop a comment here or there as my 'calling card', so I'd be good with anywhere between 12-15. The only thing that I have a hard time with is sites that don't have their own domain name and are still using sitename.blogspot.com. I get blocked, so I am not able to easily get to those sites.
