Today wordpress stat is showing almost 100 visit from Facebook!!! This is really unusual, I have never seen this before. Usually I see 3-5 visits from Facebook.
So I went to check traffic source at Google Analytic and it doesn't show anything from Facebook. Does anyone know why traffic from Facebook doesn't show up on Google Analytic (GA from now)?
On the other hand, GA shows 26 visits going to my site from Google organic. Wordpress stat only showed 1 referal from google.com.
If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be helpful.
in my experience i have found WP stats to be inaccurate. they can be all over the place. google analytics comes close to many of the paid analytics software, although even then there are some discrepancies.
i wished it was easier to find discussion outlining how the data is compiled for each service provider.
what have you found in your research online? i have seen many favor / trust the google numbers much more.

There is a bug with the facebook like button, if you're using that it's probably why. I was having a similar issue where all of a sudden i was showing 1000+ visits a day from facebook in wordpress stats, but not in analytics. The visits weren't real. They were because of a like button bug. You'll probably want to fix it..
to fix it i basically had to put in the iframe version of the like button instead of the javascript version, and then do a bunch of stuff to fix my site's duplicate content that was created as part of this as well.. Here's a post talking about the problem and how to fix it.
They use different mechanics. Some of it is cookie based, where readings will be slighly different depending on someone's browser settings. Some give results from different IP addresses, some use browsers, some use other things all together. I know that just adds quesitons, rather than answers, but it can point you the right direction to learn more.

Thanks Moneysmarts! I disabled the like button for now and will try to figure it out later. I don't see any duplicate pages, but I might be missing something. I'll work on it tonight.
