Are you talking about here on the Yakezie forums or on people's blogs themselves?

If you are talking about here on Yakezie, I guess it is because we are a greedy bunch and while we help others and write about our passions we also want to get a little kickback for ourselves.

If you're talking about on our blogs themselves – that's probably because Yakezie is geared towards personal finance blogs. It just makes sense that we would be writing about all things money!

Does that answer your question?

On MMI I just like to share what I'm doing a little more personally than on TCI.  It's not all about making money, but just shows what I'm working on – diversification.

For myself, my blog is about getting out of debt, saving money, and becoming wealthy, so yes, I talk about making money by blogging all the time. Also, it's always an interest of the readers. They know we're making money and wonder how they can do it too! Finally, it IS a passion of mine, and it has become even more fun because when you start making money online, you realize how many other ways there are to make money! It's unbelievable!

Asking a PF blogger why they talk about money is like asking a travel blogger why they talk about airfare or airlines.

I talk about a lot of money related items, from saving to spending to getting out of debt, to reviews on products or companies that I spend the money I make on.

So much of our everyday lives are tied back to what we make and how we make money that, especially as PF based bloggers, it is a natural discussion.

Guess i just wanted to make sure that people aren't following the crowd. I think that is one way to never stand out. I have been hearing that the passive income topic is a little saturated and was just curious as to everyone's thoughts. With that being said if it is your passion then i fully support you and if you need anything just ask.

The PF blog realm is big as is the travel blog realm.  There are many many sites that outline how people travel (and pay for it).  Within PF there are numerous sub-niches: investing, passive income, frugality, budgeting, couponing, green/sustainable, making money online etc etc etc.

Sustainable PF,

I can see where you are coming from. I comfortable within the realm of being financially minimalistic so i did not take into the account all the avenues within PF. I hope i did not come off like my intent was to criticize people with PF blogs.

By the way your site has some good stuff. Keep it up.

Hi Kenneth,

I don't think anyone is offended. We actually have a thread where we talked about why we each decided to start blogging. If I come across it, I'll post it here.

Most come from finance backgrounds, some wanted to journal their process of getting out of debt. some are honest and say they started just to make money. These bloggers usually fall by the wayside.

I like your angle btw, welcome to the challenge!

I wouldn't call blogging passive income! Perhaps an element of it, or niche blogging, but it's certainly not passive. Just my two centsSmile

I have more saving money posts than making more money. I think it's inevitable to have earn more money type of posts if you're writing a PF blog. It's 2 sides of the same coin right?

Amanda is right, it's not even close to passive.  A blog is only a blog if it's updated regularly, and that sure as heck isn't passive.  Otherwise, it's just another website.  (unless I'm doing it completely wrong!)

It could be, if you hire an editor and ghost writers.

Hi kenneth – most of us did start as PF bloggers, so that's why we talk about money.

Personally, I havent talked about money in quite a while (i feel like, anyway) i've moved more into diy and becoming self sufficient.

I believe talk about making money from their blog because they see it as an alternate income stream.  When you eat, breath, sleep and write about money all the time you tend to want to make more of it.
