Does anyone know when they will open it back up to new blogs? Or does anyone know when they quit accepting new blogs? I'm curious to see where I would rank and moving up would be another motivating factor other than Alexa :)
Thanks!

It took them more than 4 months to include me from the day I applied. Raise a ticket or if this thread gets longer, someone from Wisebread would respond here.

I applied months ago and heard nothing. Even tried to tweet Wisebread and was ignored. Saw some other Yakezie bloggers try to get answers and they were ignored too. Fine if they aren't open anymore, but it would be nice to at least take down the page where you can submit your site, or acknowledge what is going on.

I applied I believe twice. I emailed them two or three times. Nothing.

That's strange – I haven't heard that they have stopped accepting people. It did take them a while to add 20's Finances.

I definitely applied 2 times as well and sent multiple emails with no response. I even emailed the person in charge of their newsletter; they actually responded and told me it would take about 30 days. 45 days later I emailed them back when I hadn't been added and I never heard back from them again. lol
It's REALLY annoying. Lance, if you want some other gauges to see where you rank check out Money Crashers and Totally Money Blog.

I am more than a little embarrassed to say that I had to raise a real stink in public on Twitter to get noticed by Wisebread. Once it was clear that there was a public fuss I was added nearly immediately. …at least that's the way it looked to me. The whole process wasn't professional, IMHO.

Hate to say it but this is what I expected. Hopefully someone important at Wise Bread sees this and adds a few of our blogs :)

They're doing the ranking as a favor and it's not really their top of list priorities. I sent mine in and it took them about 8 months last year to get it done. They did get it done eventually. Technorati was worse.
Having suffer through 15 hrs workdays every weekend for the past month and half on a new site to help promote 200 bloggers, I can tell you that the IT backend work is huge. Their IT workload is probably massive as their site keeps getting larger. Every time, we added something – something else would break on the code.
We have our own ranking lists that we maintain in private but we had designed it for auto enrollment by the bloggers. Doing that cost a lot more programming wise than if we had done a static SQL table (similar to Wisebread).

I see a lot of technical terms related error. Anyway which is this blogger community you are talking about?

The list isn't their top priority but so far as I know it's still open and they will add you eventually. It's not a negligible amount of work to maintain. Raising a stink probably isn't going to help.

I eventually got on their list just by pinging them every couple of weeks on Twitter.
Just be persistent, without being annoying, and you can get on there.

They have spoken numerous times about revising the list anyway (i.e., to have coupon blogs on a separate chart and perhaps to reconsider the ranking algorithm [right now it is VERY social heavy with Klout + FB & Twitter]. It was not a top priority when they were discussing this a while back, but at some point, I suspect you all will be added.

I got on the list when I met them in Chicago @ FinCon11.
Nice people.
The list is nice, but updated very slowly.

For those of you who got on the list, do you see any traffic?

I don't. I've been on there for quite awhile and I don't ever remember seeing any referral traffic. Like most PF blog rankings, it doesn't really do much for me.

I get a few clicks every week or so.
The thing to remember is that it is a free service they are providing, and as such it is not an entitlement. I waited a few months as well after initially submitting my application.
What we need to remember is that they run an entire site, and the top blog section is only a small part of the site, and the community as a whole. The real value they provide lies elsewhere if anyone has ever been to their site.
Lance–as per your original query, your blog has only been live for roughly a month, correct? I would give it some time since one of the requirements for inclusion is regular posting, and at least a few months old. Like the Yakezie challenge, I'm sure they do not want someone to apply the week they start and then dropping off the face of the earth due to lack of time, drive, etc. right after. So give it some time, and I'm sure you will get added when the time is right.

Very well said Eric. And new challengers, for your information, in last one year I have seen more than 75% of challengers drop out before completing their challenge. So you are a blogger, worth appearing in blogger list, only if you post regularly and have sufficient blogging history. If you haven't applied for inclusion, then do so
1. Wisebread
2. Money crasher
3. PF blogger map
If you applied and not appearing on these lists, wait and watch. Continue to write and you'll get your fair share of glory.
