I might be a bit late in posting this (I really haven't had too much time to follow up on blogging this week), but a friend just pinged me and told me that our PRs have been updated. All I can say is… finally!
I wonder if all of those moz posts had an impact, or maybe it was coming anyways? In any case, I'm glad that we put a little heat out there.

What's your PR, now? I bet it feels good not to be at zero anymore. They raised mine to 1. I honestly expected to be higher than that, but at least it moved in the right direction!

seeing a boost in that page rank is always fun. :) I finally went from a zero to a 4! gotta love it.

I went from a 0 to a 2. It's not a 3 or a 4 but it's much better than 0. So long as they still publish an external PR I think it's fair that they update it with at least some regularity, so I'm happy they finally did do an update.

What do you attribute the large increase to? Carnivals, Guest posting, commenting on other blogs, etc? My site went from a 5 to a 4 – trying to keep it from dropping any further

I attribute it mainly to writing topics that do well in search engines (how to and tutorial type posts as opposed to more diary type entries), carnivals, commenting, and being active in social media – in additionto updating frequently. I actually haven't done a guest post for Smart On Money yet. :) I probably should.
My other site i went from a PR2 to a PR5 then down to a PR3 after i started selling text links. That site still sits at a PR3 – and I'm hoping Smart On Money stays at PR4 since i'm not selling text links there. Who really knows though how and why page rank works the way it does. You gotta just do what you think works, and hope that it does!

I honestly thought my page rank would be higher than a 1 because my traffic has been up a lot, and mostly because of search engine traffic. (I figured if my page rank was low, then my search engine traffic would also be low.) Perhaps my assumption is totally wrong though.
(My search engine traffic is not as good as some, but my site is less than a year and search engine traffic is about 40-50 percent of my total.)
So now, I have to hope for another update. I have no idea if there is a correlation or not, but my sitemap was messed up during the week the page rank update came out. I had a ton of 'not founds' and crawl errors. I had added 'category' to my permalinks, but then my old posts didn't have 'category' in the permalink, so things were not getting found. I only showed having 10 URLs indexed when the update came out, but who knows if this has anything to do with it, or maybe my site is just bad! (I have since removed Category from my permalinks and everything is back to normal.)

Mine went from 2 to 3, but I'm still pushing Moz first when I list my stats to advertisers. :-)
