Just thought I'd share an email I received recently.

Technorati is accepting guest authors on a variety of topics including finances.

Great way to expose your blog and writing, whether you're financial or lifestyle or whatever.

I actually just started writing for Technorati and am still pretty excited about it! Not only do you receive excellent exposure, but you get paid via Adsense clicks in their site! It hasn't amounted to much yet, but once I get a few articles submitted, I'm sure there will be some nice extra coin coming in. :)

Do you think you'll see much money?  I see them as sort of like blog readers.  They don't click. I've never run across a technorati article when i'm searching for information, which I find odd.

So far, I've only written one article and have seen no money. I don't expect millions or anything, but I did some research and have found that some writers make about $200 per month (and I assume it would be residual once the article is there, kind of like eHow was). I'll make sure I report back after this month though.

I was wondering if it is worth or not. I saw the email but wasn't sure how many Adsense clicks an article would get.

I have had nothing but frustration with Technorati. I was trying to get my blog listed which I did but the feed never seems to update on their so my blog rank never goes up. When I try to access tech support I never get a response. They are useless there.

I hope you have better luck with writing for them. I know they used to be huge for bloggers but I have heard a lot of negative about them. Has anyone else run into issues with them?

If you want to email me the specific issues you were having I may be able to help.  I had some issues and figured out how to iron them out.

MAX, This seems like a wonderful opportunity. I am trying to guest post on bigger sites as one of my new years resolutions and this is right on target. I appreciate the link.

@ Jacob and Barb, glad it was useful, you're welcome.

@ Melissa and The Financial Blogger, if your questions about traffic are directed at me at all, I can't really help.

My application was actually rejected about an hour or two after submitting it, as they said they were looking for more "current finance news" related articles, which my example articles really weren't, as I was looking to write more about Internet advertising and online marketing, as those are some of their fields of interest also.

Anyway, I was a no go, but figured somebody else here probably would like this.

I may try to apply again in another area, we'll see.

Funny how so many received the email though, I wonder if they went through the Yakezie contact list or something.

I had one article published so far (which was not related to personal finance), but I had about 50 extra visitors that day. I's say it's pretty well worth it. I did not see a rise in Adsense clicks, but I've never had much luck with Adsense anyway.
