Hey Everyone!

The next Yakezie Blog Swap will be 2 weeks from this Friday, 5/4/12. 

The topic is the following regarding wedding spending: According to the Huffington Post, the average wedding cost in 2011 was $27,021. I look at this stat, and have the following questions that I'd like to read some answers to in this blog swap (you can answer any/all of them – you choose and just have fun with it!). Why do you think people spend so much on weddings? Do you think it's worth the money? How do people afford weddings that cost $27k if the national savings rate is so bad? What are the long-term financial ramifications of an expensive wedding?

What money saving tips do you recommend/have you used?

Since we have a lot of newer members and challengers who may not know what a blog swap is, it is when a bunch of blogs write on the same topic, and swap sites.  Here is an example of a swap we did last year on balancing fun with frugality - http://www.mypersonalfinancejo…..ality.html.  On Friday (5/4/12), all posts go live, and I will host a round-up post on Saturday or Sunday will all the participants.

I'm in!  This will be my first blog swap.

I'm just concluding Wedding Week on my site but there are a few things I left out that I can write about. I'm in (and I think now there's 10 of us)!

Let’s set the deadline for having our swapped articles sent to our partners as Thursday night, 5/3/2012, in order to allow sufficient time for our partners to get the post scheduled.

I am actually out. I just informed Marissa (she is my partner) about me dropping out. You can take my place.
