Just wanted to share…

Last week Briana and her hubby were featured in the NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09…..tters.html) which also led to being on the front page of Yahoo! (http://finance.yahoo.com/caree…..fs-nytimes).  If you haven't seen it yet, go visit.

Today I was featured in the Knowledge @ Wharton (School of Business) article (http://knowledge.wharton.upenn…..cleid=2849)

Have you been recently featured in the mainstream media?

That's awesome! Congrats! I'm partial to Pumpkin Spice Lattes myself. :)

Do you have any tips on how to get featured on a prestigious business school's website?

Also, does Briana have a blog or does she only do freelance work for other sites?

FSYA is right about where Briana blogs.

About getting onto Wharton's site? Well, the writer was researching her article and I think that I must have come up a number of times when it came to frugality and being "cheap".  I get media inquiries a fair amount of time, which I turn down due to the whole anonymity thing.

I think that staying very true to your theme, having information about yourself, showing where else you have been featured, and well categorized blog will help with all media.  I guess it all boils down to doing 3/4 of the work for them and having as much as possible at their fingertips.

If you want to be in the media, it also helps to subscribe to @helpareporter on twitter and Cision Media's Newsletter to find out what's going on the in the journalism world.

I just found out that one of my articles was picked up and used on the Manta Small Business site.  I'm sure it's not a popular site in terms of regular people visiting, but it does have an Alexa ranking of 628, MozRank of 6.5 and PR of 7, so it's safe to say I'm pretty excited about that.  Can't say that the referral traffic has been anything to brag about, but I'll take the credibility any day.
