Hi all,

I'm looking to branch out into the world of YouTube videos and wanted to see if anyone knows and products/services that can help with what I am trying to accomplish.

I don't want to create a video with just me talking, but rather have some animations and images. Nothing super high-end or anything like that. I was thinking about PowerPoint but I'm not certain if it will do what I want. I thought about Fiverr, but it might be better just to learn how to do it myself. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!!

The best tool is Camtasia from TechSmith, but it is not cheap. That site allows you to do screen capture videos while talking. The same company makes Jing, which is very similar but has a 5 minute limit, for free.

Eric, That was useful for me.

Moneysma, Try fiverr, I've hired out video editing and there are lots of other gigs you can buy for cheap.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you. When going the Fiverr route, can you easily add voice-over to the video or how does that work?

There are folks who do everything on fivrr and lots of video gigs. I assume you can easily get someone to do voice overs!

I would suggest Camtasia. That is the editing software that I use for my Youtube vids. If you're looking for voiceover work I offer that as a service but you will likely find someone cheaper on Fiverr. (sample voiceover

I recently made my first video using Camstudio. Whilst not the most complete product on the market, it is a good starter as it is free!!

In my (limited) experience, ScreenFlow has been a good choice, and not horribly expensive, either. It's been easy to use and handles both screen capture and video.
