What is your biggest challenge you are facing with your blog?

Currently I'm focusing on growth and making growth sustainable.  Though I'm happy to say that I've seen some success (thank you amazing friends!) I worry I won't have systems in place to keep it going and that I'll have an "off" month if I don't keep it up!

What's your biggest challenge?

In Gratitude,

Any website that is left stagnant for a month will drop significantly…imagine if fool.com just stopped producing new stuff?  I guess there are some niche sites that have figured out the game but I don't think they are plentiful as those selling e-books would lead you to believe.

My biggest challenge – TIME!

I agree with Evan  - Time is my biggest challenge too….just not enough hours in the day.

Yeah, time is tricky.  If I only had more hours in the day and more days in the week.  There's always so much to do.

How do you mean when you say an "off" month?

There will always be ups and downs in traffic/revenue and such.  But you need to look long-term. A traffic drop one month could be followed with your best month ever.  And maybe an important aspect to understand is why you get traffic at X times.  Were they links back that brought traffic? Guest posts? One article was more timely? This way you understand more clearly why an off month may be occurring.

Mine is just finding a good balance.  I want to write great content.  I want to read great content and intermix it with mine.  I want to comment on other blogs. I want to participate in Yakezie as much as possible.  I want to promote my site and do research to make sure I am not talking out of my you-know-what.  All this while blogging time is only a fraction of my day.

It's about time but also prioritizing.  Trying to do all the things above but with limited resources to do so, makes me feel like I've accomplished none of them even if I've put effort into every area.  Does that make sense?

I'm not sure what my biggest challenge is. I guess I have several. Like others, I struggle with time; trying to write, read, figure out advertising, SEO…all of that takes time and striking a balance with my time is difficult. Sometimes I struggle with content–am I writing what my audience wants to read? Am I writing quality content? Stuff like that. And sometimes I struggle with growth. I'm not that adept at social media and I'm struggling with how to use that in figuring out how do I want to grow my blog?

I guess my biggest challenge really depends on what day of the week it is. Sorry that my answer's not more helpful!

Right now – baby.

I haven't written new content – real content (Carnival Hosting and Blog Update aren't really "new") since lil' SPF arrived.  Just too busy and too tired.  Thank goodness so many Yakezie members stepped up and sent me guest posts – they have been a lifeline.

My biggest challenge is time also.

When I first started, I didn't have a full time job so 5 posts a week was normal and I had posts for days. Now I struggle to get just one post up.

I just hired a staff writer so that should help. I just have so many ideas that I want to write myself so I wish I had more time to do that.

It would probably help if I didn't get so distracted and if I also weren't studying for an exam. Smile

My biggest problem is writing. Sometimes the ideas just come pouring all out, and sometimes, my brain just runs dry.

Mine has been the "technical" side… learning how to do a simple html link, or how to resize a photo, or change the colour of a word.

Right now, it's SEO… (which I was calling SOE sadly).  I've come a long way, but I'm no where near the expert that many of you are.  I wish there was more "interactive" help out there… I'd even pay a little to chat in a room with someone who could walk me through a fix.

Cheers.

Time. There's so much I'd like to do, but just haven't done due to time.  I need to speed some things up, and probably cut some things out.

All about apply the 80/20 rule, which I'm getting to now.

I'm another Time vote, and to a lesser extent… improving my writing skills.  Slowly, my writing is improving, but Time is always an issue.

Try to build up a supply of articles for those down times.  Then stagger then via the scheduler in wordpress.  If you do so, you can at least buy yourself a few weeks…

Good luck, great topic to ask :)

Same theme here, prioritizing to get the best bang out of each minute of the day.  Right now I'm focused on getting caught up and maybe even ahead in writing posts.  Next week it will be figuring out my first giveaway.  I try to designate certain days for certain stuff, like Mondays and Tuesdays to plow through posts, Wed to comment, Thursday to research, Friday to market, Sunday to do backups and maintenance stuff.  However, I don't always stick to that.

I agree, it's a never ending battle on the technical stuff.  I learn to tweak something and then find ten more things to tweak.

Getting people to comment. Also, getting my slacker co-writers to write (I'm joking guys, or am I?  Cameron, finish your draft if you're reading this!)

Haha!  Getting eyes on the page hasn't been a huge deal, just the commenting.  Props to the Yakezie network, I'm about to drop into the 6-figures on Alexa.  It's been a good ride so far!

I have 2. The first is time. I have so many ideas, both for articles and for much larger projects, but with this full time job and teaching responsibilities within my church, I don't have the time.

Also, I no nothing about coding or other technical/web stuff, so it takes me a very long time to perform small tasks. This is also why I now use 60 plugins on KNS Financial!!!

Mine is time and prioritization.  I want to continue to network with other bloggers and build relationships, but should I do that over writing new content? It's tough to find a balance.

Time is my biggest challenge as well.  I have so many ideas but not enough time.  I guess that is what keeps it interesting, there's always something more to do.
