I've always liked the convenience of Zemanta for ease of image linking, but I recently checked in the wp-content/uploads folder, and good God, there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of images there, repeated month after month, and I can see the same image there 8, even 9 times in a row. Talk about file system clutter!
Is there a decent image-linking plugin out there that doesn't completely trash your uploads folder? Curious to learn what you guys are using.
Thanks!

Nothing as easy as Zemanta, but Creative Commons is wicked-awesome. I can pull up many images quickly that fit what I need.

I haven't heard of Zemanta before, but I use Flickr CC as well. It's easy enough to download/upload to site. (Easy enough, but I've been too busy to bother with it as of lately) ;)

Awesome that Zemanta found a post on this forum about a problem and is now going to fix it!
AverageJoe/Corey/Eric Zemanta actually pulls up CreativeCommons images from Flickr and other sources, but the plugin has an option of uploading the image to your site to serve it to your readers faster than simply hotlinking the image.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Really? That's ridiculous!
I like Zemanta for the convenience, but going out to CC yourself and hunting down pics yields a lot more options.

Going into the HTML I have noticed that photos from Zemanta leave a tiny dofollow link
<div class="zemanta-pixie" style="margin-top: 10px; height: 15px;"><img class="zemanta-pixie-img" style="border: medium none; float: right;" src="http://img.zemanta.com/pixy.gif?x-id=94075f69-cdb1-4535-97ba-d839c54c934f" alt="" /></div>
