My project this weekend has been to add a CDN to The College Investor. I got it up and running, but was hoping to have a few of you stop by and check the load time.
I hope it's faster for you!

Looks good!
MJTM – CDN=Content Delivery Network. You upload files like your images to a network that has locations all over. When a visitor comes the closest location delivers the file. On top of that, because another server delivers your files your site loads faster. You can set up more than just images as well. [I think that sums it up.]

Very cool. I didn't even know about these. I think I need to look into one.

I am looking into getting a CDN too. But I have been dragging my feet because most of the delay with my site is not because of my content it is due to advertisers :( So not sure what to do about that… Do you store just the images or static files too?

Very crisp load from my perspective. Your site is looking very cool too, since your latest makeover. Thanks for the description Glen.

Suba – Since I'm using Amazon, speed is awesome and storage is unlimited. I simply hosted most of my advertisers images myself, as well as some of their javascript and css. It really helped out a lot.
I was also surprised by the cost! It might cost me $1 per month tops! Right now, after the biggest upload, I'm at $0.08.

I forgot to add that is was very easy to setup – it took about 2 hours, with about an hour waiting for DNS setting changes.
