I agree with Ninja. I use TweetAdder and it is incredible! It is well worth the cost.

If you want to work it in with your URL you can use something like Yourls.  It comes with a plug-in to send posts as soon as you hit post (or schedule a post), and also lets you set up short urls using your url.  I've got it setup for http://dqydj/a/(something)

From reading this thread it looks like I need to sign up for HootSuite.  I've mostly been neglecting Twitter and Facebook but hopefully this tool can change that.

Thanks all! If my other sites start taking off, I am going to seriously consider tweet adder. It looks amazing.

BTW, I added the Tweet Old Posts plugin and it has already paid off. I got a lot of traffic last night from twitter on an older post that was tweeted using this plugin.

You guys are awesome!

Corey

I used to pay for Hootsuite for the bulk tweet option, but I found that so many of my bulk tweets were rejected for errors that it just sucked up my time. Has anyone experienced this and discovered a solution?

The problem with the bulk tweet option on HootSuite is the need to have each tweet different.  Twitter errors out if it sees duplicates on the same account (I had that problem too and gave up on using the bulk upload).

I would have each tweet slightly different…but somehow the date would not save numerically correctly or something else would occur and I would have to fix errors on something like lines 2, 15, and 34…It just left me annoyed.

I have the same thing setup as as Andrea. The whole 'old post' thing is funny to me as you see a lot of people not taking the time to set it properly and have posts from Black Friday or an event that happened in the summer filling up twitter streams.

LOL! Recently, I got a tweet from a fellow Yakezie challenger letting me know my Tweet Old Post plugin tweeted a post from Christmas 2009. I had to go into WordPress and manually check off which posts I didn't want to tweet. You can also select whole categories to exclude such as weekly round ups and giveaways.
