So I have noticed that for the past couple days that I am unable to post comments on a lot of blogs. I will click to submit or post my comment and a screen will pop up that says that the page I am looking for can't be found and gives me the links to the recent posts, which always includes the post I tried to comment on.

I was willing to accept that I would no longer be able to comment on some of my favourite blogs. But then I tried to respond to a commenter on my own blog and found I couldn't. This is the message that came up:

This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.

I need to be able to interact with my readers, so this is unacceptable. I am hoping this is a freak problem but it has lasted at least two days now so I have my doubts.

Has this happened to anybody before? If anybody knows what the problem is you have no idea how much I will appreciate your help.

I just left a test comment on your latest post – I didn't have any trouble getting it to go through.

What browser are you using, and what version? Do you have cookies enabled? Just trying to think of possible causes. Hopefully someone has experienced that problem before and can chime in.

I'm not sure what the solution is but would suggest to clear in any case your browser cache and cookies etc.

That often helps me when facing freaky problems that I cannot explain. Maybe it helps you as well.

If clearing the cache and cookies etc. doesn't work, then try using a different browser. Your browser could be corrupt in some way. If it works with a different browser, and you really like the browser you usually use, then try uninstalling it and re-installing. Hope this helps!

I cleared the cookies and cache in Firefox and it still didn't work. So I did as you said and tried commenting in Google Chrome and that didn't work either. I am beginning to think my laptop might have some sort of virus. I still don't know and it is getting annoying writing these long comments on posts I found interesting and then not having them work.

It almost sounds like it thinks you're searching somehow instead of trying to comment. I think doing a virus scan sounds like a good idea.

@Jackie, I know that is what I don't get. But all I am doing is clicking the button that says submit reply or comment or whatever the particular site says. I am going to check for viruses real soon.

@Suba, No I did not change anything. Just all of the sudden one day I found I could not post comments on certain sites. It i still perplexing me, I cannot think of anything that might have done this.

Don't check for viruses soon, do it immediately. I may be a bit paranoid, but I'm on my computer enough that if it starts doing anything hinky, I immediately stop and run a malwarebytes scan on it. I also have avast running on it all the time. I've lost computers to viruses before so it's just easier to start from fresh. I'd clear the cache, the cookies, and the history from "the beginning of time." And then reinstall my browsers as well.
