As the title says, my blog is pretty much useless at the moment. I upgraded to 3.5.1 earlier this week, and several things on my blog – Fat Guy, Skinny Wallet – have been deactivated! Here are some of the things that no longer work for me:
- Publishing a post
- Scheduling a post to publish
- Adding tags to a post
- Selecting multiple items at once (if I hit to top checkbox in a list, it doesn't select all as before)
- Responding to comments from the dashboard (hitting reply does nothing…I have to go to the comments section of the post in order to respond)
I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it. I have a backup of site that I did just before the upgrade if I need it.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas what might be causing this?
I have no tech skills, so I appreciate any help/suggestion that you can give!

Sounds like a nightmare Khaleef.
I haven't been able to get posts to publish when scheduled for many months now. I believe it's something to do with cron jobs not firing properly. Maybe you have the same problem for that issue? There are plugins to create artificial cron jobs – I tried a few out but they seemed quite technical so I've not taken steps to address the issue long term. Can't help with any of the others I'm afraid. Hope you get things sorted.

Khaleef – I'd be glad to take a look if you want. A few of my clients have had similar issues, and they usually end up being theme, plugin, or server configuration issues.

Of course…that would be wonderful! I'll send you an email now.

Ah Khaleef, that sounds terrible!
It's probably a clash with the theme and the new Wordpress… I know that's not much help. I've had the same with my own theme, I've had to change.

It ended up being a plugin that I have since removed. It's amazing to think that a plugin conflict can cause problems in areas of the site that aren't normally affected by that plugin. In this case, it was a plugin that adds a progress bar to the sidebar or in a post.
Anyway, many thanks to Andrea for finding and fixing the problem (and doing other things while in there)!

The newer versions up Wordpress (3.5+) updated some code that plugin/theme developers were told to use as shared WP Core files. Instead, many developers just made their own code with the plugin instead of using the shared code. In V3.5, the code was updated and created a conflict with many plugins/themes.
