unfortunately for me, I am under attack from many different ip addresses, and there are a lot of inappropriate language in these trackbacks too. They are also listing the website as google.com. I am perplexed as to why this is happening. I must have really impressed someone with my new page rank of 1…

I am getting a lot of trackbacks from google.com as well. Before that, it was the sites with six or seven numbers in the domain name. I wonder what's next!

@SPF I paid the price for dragging my feet on this issue. This week I have been hit with almost 1,000 spam comments. I have just installed GASP. Let's hope it does the trick, and cuts down my workload.

I am using GASP and blocked a few ip's of a pesky spammer.  Bad SPAM comments cutdown to zero.  Amazing.  I'm thinking in my case, it was the ip block that helped as I was getting buried by the same website.  Good luck!

I've been looking into puttin GASP on for a while, and am considering a site redesign, so I think I'll integrate it into that.  I was having good luck with askimet for a while, but then I added conditional captcha and it lowered the spam I got by quite a bit.  Still get some through though.

Conditional Captcha + Typepad Antispam works pretty well; my main problem is the trackback spam that has to be manually filtered. It comes and goes in waves though.

Just installed GASP to give it a try. Looking forward to it. I was using Disqus but had some trouble with it so switched back to the standard option. Since then Spam went way up.
