I wanted to see what everyone things of CommentLuv. It seems like ever since I started using it I have had several people to me that they were unable to comment on my site. I love giving other bloggers a link back to their posts, but I also like it when people can comment on my site. :) Has anyone had similar issues?

I will admit prioritizing commenting on vommentluv sites over sites without.
My only problem with commenting on your site is that it doesn't show what I enter into the author fields.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I don't know that I prioritize commenting on sites with CommentLuv, but as a reader I have found them to be easier to use & input info. In regards to having it on my sit, I have not run into any issues. I like to give the link back as well, but can see your point.

I like commentLuv because I can see whether or not other bloggers have a new post. Although not having it doesn't stop me from commenting on a site. I usually comment on sites that comment on mine and then move out from there, so CommentLuv doesn't play too much of a role.
I'm considering starting a new site that's less personal in hopes to make a little bit of money. I don't know that I'd use commentLuv on that site because I'm not sure how it would affect the site's speed and it's possible that a large percentage of my readers wouldn't be bloggers.

I don't really pay attention to what commenting system a site uses for the most part. The extra link back from CommentLuv sites is a nice bonus I guess.
I will say that any commenting system that requires me to sign up/login in order to leave a comment is a huge turnoff. I don't need another username/password to remember, so I do shy away from leaving comments on sites where that is the case.

To clarify, I don't base my decision to comment solely on this. There are about a dozen and a half blogs that I read daily and will find something to comment with. That takes me about two hours. After that, if I have time, I hit the RSS feeds and look at what is interesting. If a site has CommentLuv and I have something kind of interesting, I'll comment. If there is no CommentLuv, I'll only comment if there is something I REALLY feel the need to share.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I think I'll keep CommentLuv for now. I just wish I could find a way to stop it from not letting people comment from time to time.

I like commentluv too because people who go through comments will easily go over to another site to check an interesting post. there may be a coding conflict on your site preventing it from working properly

I like CommentLuv because I like to see the types of posts my commenters are writing about. I almost always check out their sites. It's an easy way to network.

I never really paid that close attention to it until you brought it up. I do enjoy commenting on sites that use commentluv because I enjoy the little link back when I post a recent article. Actually makes me want to go and change my site around so I can give others the benefit. It might actually bring a few more comments to my posts. :)

I heartily agree with your second paragraph. Some sites want to force you to have to sign in with twitter or facebook or with another logon. If you use such a product, it greatly helps to give your reader the option of commenting as a guest.

I like and use CommentLuv on my site. It is interesting to note that I installed it on my personal profile website and comment spam started to appear. (Of course I trap it with Akismet.) I watched the comment spam increase over the course of a month. I removed CommentLuv from my personal site and the comment spam went away almost immediately.
