Is it possible to embed an Excel or Google Spreadsheet into a post WITH editing option for Readers? I just created a Google Spreadsheet and was able to embed it into my post. However, I want readers to have the option to enter in various data, so they can see how the numbers look for their particular situations, and it doesn't give that option.
You can only highlight items, but can't make any changes. On Google, the spreadsheet is set as "Public on the Web", "Anyone invited as a collaborator (no protection)" is set as the protection option, and the page has been published on the web.
It's not just in WordPress either, I sent the link to my wife and she can't edit it from her Google account!
I want this post to go live tomorrow morning, can someone help me in the next few minutes?

Let me add that I am using a plugin called: TGN Embed everything
I'll take a plugin or non-plugin solution at this point. Plus, I'm open to using Excel or Google Spreadsheets to do this!

Just a little bump. Hoping someone sees this and can point me in the right direction.

KNS,
If you want your readers to add data to the spreadsheet row by row, one row for each reader (for example), you should be using a Google Form that will submit data into a Google Spreadsheet, one column per answer, one row per submission. If you want something outside of this possibility, perhaps mention exactly what you are trying to do, and I can be more helpful…or someone else in the forums.

Yakezie Webmaster.
If it's broke I will try to fix it. If you need help, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Hey Chris, here is what I want to do. In this post http://knsfinancial.com/401k-a…..ree-money/ I give an example of what a typical paycheck might look like with and without a 401k contribution. I also look at how much money we lose if we do not contribute enough to get the employer match. In order to do the calculations, I made a little spreadsheet. I would like to embed this spreadsheet into the post so that readers are able to enter their specific information and see the results.
Is this possible?
Thanks for your help!

This is not something that you are going to be able to do with an embeded Google Spreadsheet. If you want to give your users the ability to do mathematical calculations like this, you are probably going to have to resort to creating something with Javascript or (not as ideally) PHP. If you are not able to do either of those things, perhaps you can give your users the spreadsheet as a Zip file that they can download and use on their local computer, opening it up in MS Excel. Sorry that I cannot be more helpful.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I guess I can attach the spreadsheet to the post. I may do that!
Thanks, Chris!

Thanks for the suggestion Mike! I just used it in my November stats/roundup post: http://knsfinancial.com/novemb…..-11-22-10/
It doesn't give the reader a chance to perform calculations, but it does present a nice table that they can play with a little.
