Hi everybody! I am new to this site– just stumbled on it this afternoon by accident, and cannot believe I've never seen it before. Looks like an amazing site for bloggers, so I am glad I found it.

I am posting here to offer Guest Posts on a variety of topics–my favorite things to write about are finances, saving money, health, travel, writing, SEO, social media, finding online writing work, etc… but I open to other topics as well– love to research and learn about new things. I only ask that your blog is a PR3 and up, I be allowed to insert one relevant link, and you will either post or kick it to the curb right away…

What site would you be looking to link to in the article? This would most likely fall in to the sponsored post category, and there would be a fee involved.

Denise, here we don't guest post based on PR. If you are looking for a minimum PR and you have a link, it would mostly be a link to a business/company? In that case it is not a guest post, it would be a sponsored post. Just fyi…

Thanks for your responses. By the way, is there any way to edit a post? Since the PR thing seems to be a sticking point, I would delete it if I could figure out how.

I do understand about sponsored posts, but I can also tell you that I have done hundreds, if not thousands of guest posts with a link. I typically write a good quality and compelling post targeted to the site and the readers of that site. I find that most bloggers (myself included) do not mind a relevant and non-spammy link.  I don't work with shady businesses, so the links are to decent, legitimate businesses interested in driving traffic.

That being said, help me track down an editing or delete button, and I'll fix up this post. Frown

Denise,

There may be different views out there, but generally over here if a post includes a link to a business, it's falls into the sponsored post category.  If treated as free "guest posts", these essentially turn into free advertisements for the businsess with the links. Posts with a link to an individual blogger's site – unaffiliated with any business – are a different story, and might be deemed true guest posts. Just trying to clarify the prevailing view. Thanks.

A "guest post" with a business link is a sponsored post.  Email me if you'd like my rates, thanks!

Hey Denise. As others have said, this would be considered as sponsored post, and there would be a fee involved, depending on various factors. The fact that you were originally concerned about PR, is a clear sign that you are looking for advertising.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer— I see that I have really caused a ruckus, and that certainly was not my intention at all. I definitely understand where you are coming from, even while maintaining that there is definitely some grey area here–  Since there is no delete button on this forum– this post will remain here and I will continue being stonedFrown

Thanks for answering my question…. I see that delete is impossible as well. *SIGH*

Thank you as well for pointing out that I fudged up the link to my blog in my signature. I have fixed it now.

I hate to argue.. I maintain that when guest posting even for our own blogs, PR is a concern, isn't it? After all, isn't that what makes our PR better, and therefore our blog more trustworthy?

Many 'personal blogs' also contain lots of ads, purchase links, and even stores. (Though mine does not, yet– apparently I'm missing the boat.)

Again– I apologize to anyone that I offended, and would definitely delete this post if possible.

I feel for you at this point since advertiser or not, there just isn't a way to un-print a post here, but at least you are being politely "stoned".  Laugh  Plus, if you ever do get a budget from one of the companies you link to, you know where to find a great group of blogs to advertise on. Wink  Good luck!

Hi Denise.  Yakezie is a network of financial bloggers.  Here's how it works in a nutshell:

If you have a personal finance blog, you are welcome to join challenge.  The key is 'personal'.  From time to time we have businesses masquerading as PF bloggers.

What is the challenge?  To bring your blog Alexa ranking to under 200K within 6 months.  As a prerequisite, download the alexa toolbar for your browser and put up the Yakezie challenger badge in your blog and make an announcement that you are beginning your challenge.  This will serve as the start date.  Visit other blogs, comment, link to other blogs,  build relationships along the way.

Once you complete the challenge, you'll have a chance to join the Yakezie Network.

The motto of Yakeize is 'Selflessly helping others'.  Towards that Yakezie sponsors a writing contest for students.  As a Yakezie blogger, we normally do not discriminate based on a fellow Yakezie blogger's PR.  Now that wouldn't be selfless, would it?

If all you are looking for are links to your blog/business, you'll find our rates highly competitive and of course get to choose a PR.
