Hey Everyone,
I know that there was a recent thread about this in the bloggers lair, but a lot of my content is being stolen recently. It was one page first… now its somewhere around 6 or 7 posts all within the last couple of days. GRRR!
Here is the site that is stealing my info:
http://zzsieng.h-info.co.in/?p=42
Any advice on what to do first would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I forgot to add that I tried to leave them a comment asking them to take it down or I would report them. After I did that, they stole 5 more articles.

Report it to Google. I think you go in through webmaster tools to do that. Next, find their host (whois lookup) and report them.

Thanks – although if you are referring to a Google DMCA form, it does not recognize the url address. I'm not sure why??
Also, when I did a whois search, this is what came up (nothing):
Reverse Google Adsense ID: |
no Google AdSense ID found on h-info.co.in |
Reverse Google Analytics ID: |
no Google Analytics ID found on h-info.co.in |
Reverse IP: |
no matches were found for for ip 208.91.198.55 |
Reverse NS records: |
no matches were found for dns1.bigrock.in NS record
no matches were found for dns2.bigrock.in NS record
no matches were found for dns4.bigrock.in NS record
dns3.bigrock.in NS record has 10,002 domains |
Reverse MX records: |
no matches were found for us2.mx1.mailhostbox.com MX record
no matches were found for us2.mx2.mailhostbox.com MX record |
Reverse Hostmaster: |
no matches were found for thathiren@gmail.com |
I did send an email to the email address listed above, but no response yet.
Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Since their host is in India, you may not have many options. You can try to contact them here: http://www.bigrock.in/support/…..act-us.php
Tell them what's going on.
You could try to file a formal DMCA complaint with them, but they (obviously) aren't bound by U.S. laws.

Thanks Jeremy. I sent them a message with proof of my copyright. *Fingers crossed* I'll let everyone know if I hear anything.

At least they left all of your links in there. But I know how frustrating that is.
The hosting provider may be in the US, I would send a DMCA complaint nonetheless.
And check out myfreecopyright.com It's an extra layer of protection.

Thanks LaTisha. I tried to submit a DMCA claim but it wouldn't recognize the url. I don't know what was going on…
I am registered for myfreecopyright.com – I used that in my message to BigRock (webhost).

I am not help here but I am curious what do they (whoever they are) get out of stealing someone's content? I looked at their blog and it is obviously a very trashy site, no comparison to 20sFinances. So, what's the deal here? Why?

Like NarrowBridge said, report it to Google.
Alternatively, a better idea (since google often doesn't pay attention) is to just build up your blog's backlinks profile. That way Google will consider you the "real" site than the guy who plagiarized you, and automatically punish them (that's what google's bots do).

They have been scrapping all my posts (and some other yakezie members from the ping backs I am getting). I have not done anything so far because every single post of mine has my links and I am hoping google will figure out who has the original content. But I have been through once where google didn't handle it properly and cost my adsense, so if this continues until the weekend I will report them for sure.

What the hell they didn't even try to make it their own. They even left your name in it.

Hope this helps!

Report it to Google.
The problem with reporting is I think you can only do that if they are violating a TOS, like stealing your copyright and displaying adsense. I don't see adsense on the scraper site.
20's - There are a couple of plugins out there that allow you to put a message in your RSS footer. Here you can write something along the lines of "property of ________. If you are reading this outside of a reader then this is stolen content." Something like that. At least then it leaves a fingerprint showing where it came from and may help the bots know its origin.

If that are scraping his content, then they are violating his copyright. If you file a DMCA with Google, they will deindex the posts. I've had to do this a dozen times or more. It has worked every time.

What are the names of those plug-ins?

If you can't file a DMCA and the host is unresponsive you might be in real trouble.
My first line of defence is those two things and I haven't had any success with anything else. At least the content is linking back to yours, so google should be able to determine that the content is yours.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm still not sure why I can't file a DMCA claim – it keeps telling me the url is invalid. Not sure.
I did receive a response from the host. Here's their response:
Hello,
We have notified the client and have asked them to take the necessary action within the next 48hours.
In case of further doubts, kindly update us.
Regards,
Abuse Team
It was still up after this was sent, but hopefully they will take it off. If not, I guess it is good that it is claiming me as the source now.

First, this is just a thought, but what would be the consequences of blocking large ranges of ip addresses from some of these sites?
The downside would be that you would lose potential traffic.
I wonder if a lot of these entities get the content from feeds? I that would be the easiest way. Especially if you post your entire content in your feed.
I'm looking forward to hear if anyone has any other solutions…
