Hi Everyone!
I have a question–I recently ran a website report, and it says that I only have 35 backlinks in google! That is unbelievable to me. In the other search engines (yahoo, altavista), I have over 25,000.
Does anyone know something that could be causing this? I also have a very low return in Bing.

Google only reports a fraction of the links that it knows about — use linkdiagnosis or majesticseo. Yahoo used to be more reliable but now it's taking more of a google type tack.

where are you getting the 35 from? google or external reports?
go into your google webmaster tools. you will find that the detailed record is often very much different from outside reports you run, which i agree only shows a tiny fraction
|

To echo Sunil, definitely log into webmaster tools and check things out there. It is a great resource that we should all check into regularly.

I didn't know that webmaster tools contained a link count as well. I thought it was just for searching for errors! Thanks.
