Greetings!
I was trying to uses my Ligit search function on my site, and words that I know I have used on my site were not being found. I was hitting my head against the wall when I thought that maybe something was wrong with my site. So, I headed over to Webmaster tools.
When I went to check how many URLs I have indexed, it shows I only have 34, even though 1,124 URLs have been submitted. I have regenerated my sitemap (yesterday) and the number has not changed. I am not a sitemap expert by any means, so does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!
Kris

I can see the 1480 urls indexed when I do the site search in google. Did you clean up your site map recently (like make it ignore the archives, categories etc)? If you traffic has not changed then it might be just a problem with webmaster tool?

Suba, I have not touched my sitemap parameters in ages. I will just hope it is webmaster tools. I am still puzzled about my lijit search not coming up with anything though.
Thanks!

Kris,
Is it just possible that Lijit isn't as good of a search engine as google? I mean if they were they wouldn't be a tiny company vs google? I know before updating to google's search engine on my site the wordpress one SUCKED. Why use lijit? do you make enough on it to justify having worse results?

Evan,
I had google search at one point, but I was scared that maybe I was clicking something on the search results that would get me banned from adsense. (Possibly irrational, I know…) So, I switched to Lijit. I make nothing with Ligit, I just use it for peace of mind. (I search my site all the time to set up internal links.)
It does give erratic results. For instance, words it would not find earlier today are found now. Very strange.

I would use Google search (I do). In the search page the ads are at the top so just stay away from those.
Especially if you are using a search box for your internal linking, you want the best results you can get. And you want to provide your users the best results as well.
