How do I change the published date without sending out an RSS update?

So I have heard that doing a minor update and change the publish date to something more recent will help with Google search. Apparently Google is giving more weight to newer articles. Anyway, I have been changing the publish date to yesterday (the previous day) on one article a week. However, when I do this it also sends out an RSS update.

I don't really want to send out an RSS update because Aweber will also send out an email to my subscribers. Is there a way to change the publish date so that it won't send out an RSS feed update?

You can try a plugin like Stealth Publish to skip the RSS feed and homepage on "new" articles. Not sure if there are other ramifications though.
