So after a few hours of trying to find an answer – I give!
I want to no-index one or 2 categories on our site. Any idea how this can be done?
ONLY 1 or 2 tho.

I'm not sure of the exact code, but if you have a good URL structure, you should be able to figure out what the URL for each category is and no-index it in the robots.txt file of your site. If you're comfortable enough with PHP and HTML, you probably could do it in the header as well, but that would get significantly more complicated, and your chances of error are higher.

I got curious after I wrote that comment. I think this is what you're looking for:

Thanks BB – I have no issues heading into the PHP files – HTML is even more familiar. Thanks for the resource!

If you use Yoast or All In One SEO then it is as easy as a click of a button. Let me know if you need help!

I use all in one seo – but, it only seems to let me noindex category pages. I want all the posts in a category (or 2) noindexed. E.G. our Green Tips – 230 or so posts I want to noindex w/o doing it post by post.

I can't think of or find a way to do this in Bulk. If you want to pick and choose posts, you might need to handle this manually.
Perhaps you can outsource this to someone chepaly that doesn't mind clicking a button 230 times or so :)

noindex is merely a rel tag, like nofollow. So, you should be able to put some code into your header that would pull the post/page category and, if it = the cat you want to noindex, just have it spit out the html code <rel="noindex">. I think. I'd have to do the research to be sure.

If there was a button i'd click it. My theme, as far as I can tell, does not let me no-index single posts.
@BB – ya, I have no idea how to get this done. I am going to check into Yoast SEO as per MJTM and see if it gives a bit more category by category control.
