This may sound like a bizarre question, but I was reading some entries in this forum regarding the times that people here post their new articles on their blogs. Someone said that she writes them in advance, and then places it in a draft in Wordpress. She schedules the post to automatically go out at 6am, so that she doesn't have to get up that early to post it herself. Does anybody else know about this? I'd like to do the same thing with my blog posts, so that I don't have to physically go into my dashboard and push the publish button. Thanks everyone. Have a great day!

In the New Post editor, you will see a pane that says Publish. There are options in there. Look for a tiny calendar icon that says Publish Immediately. If you click the edit link next to that, you can schedule your post there.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Oh cool! I've been using Wordpress for over a year, and yet I didn't even know about this feature. Thanks a million, kind sir.

Yes definitely schedule your posts. Some people prefer to use a calendar plugin such as WordPress Editorial Calendar. Then you can easily schedule posts further ahead of time and ensure you get them on the day of the week you want.

I thought you could schedule them well in advance just using the method that Edward mentioned. Do you need the editorial calendar to schedule them out further?

I noticed that, and I think you're right. I'm now wondering the same thing.

The advantage of using Editorial Calendar is the GUI. It provides a a calendar interface to make it easier to schedule your post on, say, a Monday. You can also use it to drag and drop scheduled posts from one date to another. I use it on both of my blogs. I'm actually posting a review of it next Friday.
