Whenever I upgrade to a newer version of wordpress, it recommends me to backup my blog files just in case something bad happens in the upgrade. How do I do that? I'm currently using godaddy as my host.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Wor…..ss_Backups should give you all the information you need.
You can use a plugin to manage it http://austinmatzko.com/wordpr…..db-backup/ or you can go for a paid service. I have had vault-press recommended to me before. I tend to back up daily, I think that is going a bit overboard, but once if you set it up to run properly then it should take care of itself and I don't want to lose any posts or comments

I use WP-backup, it's a plugin that backs up my entire database, files, comments etc.
It definitely came in handy when a theme update broke my site! I had to restore and fix the theme with the authors most recent patch on their site.

Thanks for mentioning this plug-in. I was having problems with a different one, I could back up some features but not all.
