What up Yakezie peeps! This is long overdue, but I want to join the Yakezie fun. I've been watching the growth of the group for quite some time now, but due to regulatory issues (I'm a Financial Advisor with a Series 7) it made taking part in anything like this impossible. So basically it blows. I finally got the courage to drop my 7 and formed my own Registered Investment Advisory firm. Translation: I now have the freedom to blog when I want and how I want. And most importantly (for these forums) I can join the Yakezie challenge. <happy dance>
While I am an FA by day, I'm a blogging geek by night. Blogging = obsessive hobby = happiness.  Can't wait to connect with you more in here and if any of your are going to the Financial Blogger conference in Chicago – I'll see you there!

Jeff,
I'll be the first to welcome you. Declare yourself part of the challenge and get to it!
You must be working for yourself since you dropped the Series 7. I'm just hunting and I have to turn down jobs at all the major banks b/c I won't be able to do this if I took one. Kind of sucks, but priorities!

You got it. I just started my own firm officially in May. I am the CEO, founder, director, president, chief compliance office, and janitor :)
I was lucky to be apart of an independent broker/dealer that at least allowed me to have a blog- my previous firm would have never allowed it. Unfortunately though I had to have everything pre-approved and had to wait 5 business days to get permission to post it. And I wasn't allowed to have comments. If I didn't love it (blogging) as much I do, I would have quit a long time ago. Needless to say, I'm glad I didn't.

Thanks peeps! The "I'm joining" post is going live tomorrow. I actually took a different approach and filmed a short video. I find videos being much easier to do minus having 3 young children in the background.
