Forgive me for my ignorance as I'm still getting used to the forums but is there a "how to" post or topic for us "newbies" to the challenge, that details sort of the steps we should take to increase our ranking? I couldn't find on ein the "Help" section. Thanks!

I'm sure there are, but really, to increase your Alexa ranks, focus on these things:
1) Make sure you have the Alexa toolbar (you'll actually decrease your Alexa number by visiting your own site!)
2) Visit other Yakezie blogs and leave your comments (many bloggers will return the favor – I know I do)
3) Write guest posts for other blogs (this will attract visitors and it will help your PR as well)
4) Keep writing interesting content – without good content, no one will visit your site, and your Alexa rank will suffer.

That's always good advice.
Question: Does being on the Blogger platform affect Alexa ranking? I have my own domain but I just can't seem to shake the thought that my Alexa should be better than it is given that I know a lot of Yakezie members are giving me hits (esp. my Group 3 members!) but I've been trending down over the past few weeks. I can't help but think maybe Blogger has something to do with this?

That's a great question. since we started group 3 mine has dropped significantly (I assume you mean yours has trended upwards…)

What I'd suggest is install the alexa toolbar and drop by every members blog and leave a comment -they'll return the favor like derek said.
In january, we are re-forming teams, so make sure you get on one – that will help a lot.
