Why is it that I didn't know I had to add myself as a challenger? 2.5 months of being on Yakezie and I feel like I had no clue. It's gotta be the blonde hair.
I didn't know either – and my hair is very dark brown. :) Adding to the list now! Thanks for this super helpful thread – both to Marina for bringing it up and Crystal for the great info.

Don't worry I will just photoshop myself in the front to make myself look smarter than my blonde roots allow.

What? You weren't in that list? I figured you OWNED that list! (probably is the blond hair).

That happened to me too when I joined. A lot of this can be confusing if you're new to the concept. It actually took me several months to really figure it out.

Hey guys!
Newbie, from over the pond if you live in America. If you live in the UK i'm on the same side of the pond as you, but definitely wish I was over the U.S. side of the pond!
Anyway, enough about ponds.
Ive been meaning to join Yakezie for a while but I had to learn how to build a website first . Ive now managed it and would really like to take part in the Yakezie challenge. Ive read all about it. Would I be correct in inserting the "challenger" logo onto my website then listing my name on the spreadsheet?
My worldwide ranking is 2.5 million at the moment whilst my UK rank is 45,000. I presume I would follow the worldwide rank?
Thanks in advance!
John

Ok, I know I've asked this somewhere else before, but for the life of me I can't seem to find that post…
When are the new classes inducted? I'm asking because I saw someone mention a "Sept 15th" cutoff date. Assuming that's a grace period of sorts, does that mean the cutoffs are January 31st and June 30th with inductions taking place in February and July?
I want to sign up WhatMommyDoes (changed my mind on which site to include LOL), but I think that means I need to sign up tonight! Just wanted to double-check. Hoping someone sees this in time. If not, I might go ahead and do it later today just in case. I don't want to have to wait another round!

Hi Darrell.
It's not something we overtly track, because the more you engage and network, then your Alexa will naturally lower over time. Remember, it's a 6 month challenge, so get to know as many members and challengers as possible, stop by their sites, leave insightful comments, and you'll see the reciprocation. That will lower your Alexa.

Thanks for the tips @The College Investor. I will start commenting on blogs and building a good relation with Yakezie bloggers. It's very interesting. I am enjoying it. And also I am going through one of your content

Hello. I've always wanted to be a Yakezie member but I'm confused on how to be a member. Seems like there is no clear instructions on how to be a member.

Hi!
You're right, it's definitely a little confusing.
To become a Yakezie member, you must first complete the Yakezie challenge. It's detailed here (link). The challenge lasts a minimum of 6 months – usually more – and is designed to help you improve your blog while you build relationships with others. After you've completed the challenge, you're eligible to apply for membership. Staying active in the forums is important because that's where you'll see announcements about the application process, as well as interacting with other members and challengers. Hopefully that helps!

I joined about 2 month ago and my alexa ranking is at 700,000 worldwide and 80,000 usa. When they say lower your alexa ranking below 200,000, is that referring to worldwide or US? Someone please clarify what this Yakezie challenge is all about. I did everything that is required, but what else should I be doing to really fully utilize this challenge?

Hi Ubersteward, That is referring to global ranking.
Somewhere on this site is a list of Yakezie challenge members. I took the spreadsheet and added a few more columns and track when I visit to make sure I'm getting to new sites and leaving comments. I try to leave insightful comments that have a little depth to them. It takes time, but you will find that people visit back.
Also, use Twitter. You are on my summer team, so we will be visiting each other, I'm sure! I made a Twitter list of my summer team members on and now I can easily see and retweet it when you promote an article from your site.
