Hey all,

Here's a challenge for you. I have a friend who has a macbook pro (a few years old) and told me that she is unable to access some sites (i.e. wikipedia). The message she gets when she tries to access some of the sites is something like the following:

Safari can't open the page because safari can't connect to the server

She said it had something to do after she updated safari and firefox and her os. She told me tried everything, but I figured I would ask you guys.

Any ideas? THANKS!

Corey

Chrome. That's my suggestion. But I also know that isn't helpful. :)

Is she experiencing the same thing in Firefox, or only Safari? Is the problem intermittent or constant? Only at home or on someone else's wifi as well? In other words, more details, please!

Yes, it's the same in any browser – firefox, safari, chrome, etc. It is also the same on other people's wifi. Because I am not a mac person, I don't know what else you need, so feel free to ask more details.

Has she tried this fix? Apparently it's a known Mountain Lion issue.

Hmm.. Yes, I just tried both of those fixes and neither worked.  :(

Just want to point out that Macs are not perfect. I know some of you think they are. Not true.

Now I will get off of my soap box.

I remember when I was a 'lab rat' in college, having to work the Mac lab was punishment :)  Come a long way I suppose :)
