Hi!
Okay, the posts on my blog are loooong. I was trying to figure out a way to shorten them with that nifty "Read More" thing that cuts them off, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I want to limit the number of posts that show up on the main page too, because they just keep adding and adding.
I'm using Wordpress. Is there a plugin or something I'm not aware of?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Nell

I have the option by logging into Admin, clicking on "Atahulapa Theme Options", and then "Configure Excerpts". But I don't know where it would be on other themes, sorry.

Nell,
You can find it in the post editor – see pic below:
Also, for limiting the number of posts per page, go to Settings > Reading and it will let you change the number. Hope that helps!

OMG!! That's what that button does!!! Thanks SOOO much, I just had a moment of clarity. That would actually make a great post for your DIY blogging blog. I Googled it and it confuses other people a lot, too, apparently. Thanks for the help!

It will also make your homepage load faster, since there will be less of each post to load.

I use the Read More button Wordpress for my posts as well, but I've found that now my Feedburner feed only displays what is before the read more button, and then provides a link back to my blog to get the rest. Is there a way for the feed to show everything but still use the Read More button?

It looks like your feed is set to publish excerpts instead of full posts. If you go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard, you can set it to show full posts instead. Then it will show the whole thing via subscription even if you use Read More in your posts. Your subscribers will thank you!

Ahh, that's what it was. Great, have fixed that for the future. Thanks!
