Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if you guys want to form a Stumble Upon group to help each other's posts out. Some of you probably use the other sites as well so we can form different forum strings for Digg, Reddit, Tipd, etc…
The way I see this working is that if anyone needs something Stumbled they can post it in this forum string. Please don't abuse this. If we do this as a group it can create a lot of traffic for a site and you should only submit your BEST work. Not every post, probably only one post a month will be your best work.
Here is a guide you can use if you have never worked with Stumble Upon before or would like to learn more…

Let me know what you think! And remember to ONLY choose your BEST articles to stumble on this forum string.
Thanks ALL,
Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, this sounds like a good idea. I just hope that people don't abuse it.

I have used this type of group before with a lot of success. As you said, as long as people don't abuse it, it can be very helpfull.
Count me in!

Stumble Upon hates me – the little globes keep spinning and spinning when I try to sign up. But if a group like this starts for Digg, let me know. :-)

Jeremy, Consider me in as well.
Good idea to just select your very best posts and only ask for help promoting those, otherwise they tend to be ignored.
Also, when we were in google groups, there was a list of everyone's social network ids…not sure where that file is these days, but I'm sure it exists. I try to find people's StumbleUpon userids (I'm NewCarCoach) and then follow them. If you actively use SU, the posts of people you follow will show up randomly as you stumble. Everytime I see a yakezie post I just thumb up….seems like every 4th or 5th stumble ends up being a yakezie post (but depends on how many people you follow).

I am definitely down to get involved, but maybe a better idea is to set up a twitter #tag dedicated to collaboration group. That way we won't bombard the Yakezie forum with constant post that need tobe stumbled and it will make it easier for us to set up the #tag in TweetDeck or Hootsuite and keep it moving.
The #tag could be something like "#YPromoGroup" or something like that, maybe #YPG if not taken, not sure.
What do you think?

I think that is a great idea! If everyone includes the social networking buttons on their site, then we could just Tweet the link with that hashtag and everyone can just promote from within the article. I like it.
Instead of "can you digg this", 'can you stumble that?', we could just say, "here's the article, submit it to every network for which you have an account!" That would work for me!

That is exactly what I was thinking. You could even just put the link that you want promoted in there without any test.
Now, we just have to promote the #tag among the yakezie members and we should have a great social bookmarking team built up.

I'm all for it. I'll create a column in Hootsuite for #ypromogroup and promote every post that shows up.

Kevin – Which plug in are you using for the social networking links at the beginning of your posts? Just hit all the social networking sites you had listed and it is something I have thought about adding to my site.
Thanks

Excellent, the more the better. Here is what you need to do:
1) Set up a #YPromoGroup column in Hootsuite or TweetDeck to monitor postings
2) Submit links to #YPromoGroup that you want promoted by the members
* Special Note: Submit the social bookmarking you want promoted to make it easy for everyone to help.
3) Watch #YPromoGroup and promote others links.
4) Tell other Yakezie members to participate and we will grow.
Keep it going, Yakezie!

So add #Ypromogroup to a Twitter post and the Hootsuite filter will pick it up, correct?

I'm in – I Stumble daily with another group of friends. It's a great way to get some extra traffic and read new things. I've also heard it adds weight to your stumbles if people Stumble your actual SU page.

@BCM, yes! Add a column with the tag and you will be all good.
Let's get all of Yakezie to join and create some special traffic for all of our sites.

I am in as well. Stumbleupon has been critical to the success of my niche websites, as I have found the flow of PR to be quite fast and strong. it also helps new articles/content posted to your website to be indexed quickly by search engines.
