I know some of you have used rafflecopter in your giveaways, and I am currently trying to get a post setup utilizing rafflecopter.

The widget works perfectly fine when I copy and paste the HTML code in…but when I add ANY of my own text or words prior to the code, then the widget no longer appears when I preview the post.  Not sure why this happens, or how I can correct it.

Thanks!

This happened to me too. You have to be careful if you place text before or after the widget html to make sure the widget html doesn't get deleted. Glad you got it figured out.

I got an invite to use Rafflecopter, and I plan to do so on my next giveaway. I definitely love using it when I am entering a giveaway – it makes accessing all the entry points very easy!

I am a big fan of this too, but never use this feature.  What do you do with the info exported?

I also really like Rafflecopter! I've done 2 giveaways now and I like that I can copy a previous giveaway and edit it instead of starting from scratch when I do a new giveaway.

The one thing I noticed is if I'm previewing my post in wordpress I have to refresh it a few times before the rafflecopter box shows up but now that I know that, it's not a big deal.

Basically, it just allows you to use the power of Excel's filter tables. I used it to group all of a specific person's giveaway entries in to one spreadsheet section.

For example, in that recent giveaway, Corey from 20's Finances tweeted about the post every day, so the filter function in Excel enabled me to group his entries together and count them correctly.

What can I say… *guilty smile* – haha. That does sound like a great feature. I plan to use it in my next giveaway (that will probably feature a charity gift – thanks to inspiration from a great blogger) :)

It definitely showed me increased giveaway participation over my previous ones…which is ideally what I am looking for each time.

"Be advised, the way that it is set up now, we aren't able to see the
rules of the giveaway. Unless you put the rules somewhere else (not on
the rafflecopter form) you are risking
your giveaway being deleted. We need to be able to see rules, the
eligibility and to also see the end date.

Thank you."

Just wanted to let you all know that if you post on "online-sweeps", your giveaways may be deleted. I haven't installed it yet. There is a group of people who just don't like it and there are successful blogs that do not use it…

I just finished my second giveaway using rafflecopter and I'm pretty happy with the results however, I have a major concern with invalid entries being made that I thought were not possible with the widget.

I had a user named "Jacey" who made 77 entries when the limit was 14 one-time only plus 26 daily tweet for a total of 40 entries.  Jacey accomplished this by using two different names registered to the same email address.  She also was able to Like-Me on Facebook 3 times under one name and 13 times using the other name.  The contest clearly stated one entry only.

It is really time consuming to go through the entries to delete multiple entries ( ask SPF if you don't believe me) that I am looking at other options for my next giveaway.
