Hello, I am new to blogging and I started my site earlier this week after reading many of your sites for almost a year. I am slowly (really slowly) figuring out style changes, etc. How long did most of you wait to start the challenge? 30-40 posts? sooner? Thanks in advance.

David

I believe I joined a month after I started my blog. I only had a handful of posts up at the time… Some people have been blogging for years when they join, and others are just getting started. I don't think it matters as long as you commit to the challenge and don't give up!

Well… I am planning to start the challenge with my first post on Monday, October 24. Brand new blog. No posts yet. But that's the plan.

Welcome.  I think I had one or two posts ready when I started.  Over time, I try to stay 1-2 weeks ahead.

I started as soon as I found out about the Yakezie…which was after 2 posts I believe lol.  Starting sooner than later is the way to go!

I joined after I had a good number of posts up, but that was only because I didn't think my site was "good" enough to be included. With my second site (which sounds almost identical to yours Wink), I joined right away!

Hi David. The sooner the better! Seriously, don't wait. You'll have much greater success with the Yakezie network, especially given the fact that we're all here to help you! If you have any questions with your site (seriously, anything), just throw the question our here in the forum. We'll help you in the matter of minutes! Can't wait to read your stuff (I've actually already started and am linking to one of your posts tomorrow). :)

I would agree with many that you should start as soon as possible. Make sure that you can keep up the frequent posts (maybe get a few in the queue first) and then jump right in. I started almost two months ago and love the people here. They are great and super helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

My very first post was telling the world I am joining the challenge.  Like any challenge you get what you put into it.  The community is great and will help you but you have to be willing go the extra extra mile and put forth the effort to successed.  Now that I've been here a long time (all of 23 days).  I noticed that it just takes time and consistency :-).

Same with me, I'd been blogging for almost two years I think.  I heard about the Yakezie and signed up the moment I read about it, as it was the best idea I'd come across since starting my blog.

So there's probably no wrong time :)

Yeah, best time is the present! Personally, 290 posts in (and should have done it sooner).

I joined about a month and a half in. I kept seeing the Yakezie badge everywhere but I have to admit that the 6 month requirement was a bit daunting at first.

I can only say I wish I would have joined sooner! Smile
