Hi,
I have installed the Alexa Toolbar in Firefox and in Chrome. Now I want to make sure that Alex counts my visits to all the fellow Yakezie blogs (and my own), but I do not want to see that Alexa toolbar all the time in my browser.
In Firefox, the Alexa extension is installed and not disables. When I right mouse-click on the Firefox toolbar and indicate that I do not want to see the Alexa toolbar, is Alex than still registering the sites that I visit?
In Chrome, when I installed the Alexa toolbar, I just got a small Alexa icon in the toolbar. If you click on it you get the Alexa information about the site that you are visiting. Is having it like this enough to make your visits count for Alexa?
Thanks.

Yes it is still functioning even though you are hiding it. I use Chrome and it's visible only as an icon on my toolbar and nothing more.

I use the SEO status plugin for Chrome. It lets me see PageRank and Alexa for any site with one click and it uses the Alexa API to register visits.

I've always had the Alexa toolbar installed in Chrome. Having the "little A" rather than a full toolbar is nice. Is the "toolbar" actually an intrusive toolbar in other browsers?
And yes, the little A is enough to register your visit. Size doesn't matter ;)

That's the one you download from Alexa (or start there and go to the Chrome extensions store)?

I use "SEO Site Tools" and "Alexa tool" for Chrome. SEO Site Tools automatically display PageRank any site.

I'd like to put another recommendation in for the SEO Status toolbar in Chrome. I used to use the official Alexa toolbar, but I have major concerns about the amount of data they collect. SEO Status allows you to block Alexa from recording your visits to certain domains, for example banking websites or google accounts, so I can still contribute to boosting the Alexa rankings of my fellow bloggers but I don't have to worry as much about Alexa watching me when I log into my private account-based websites.
