I like the simplicity of All in One, but Yoast does seem to offer a few extras. I like the want it helps you optimise for keywords in your post.

Hmmm…I don't use either, but now I'm going to have to try one. I like things that are simple, so it sounds like Allinone is leading the voting at this point

I will have to give Yoast another try since I've heard such good things about it

For my WP sites I use "All in One" (My other sites are on Drupal which has its own modules).

I don't want to spend too much time on SEO. Just do the basics that have most impact.

To me "All in One" is fine and does the job.

If anybody knows of an independent practical comparison between the two based on actual results, not just opinions (yes, I have no clue how this could be done), please share.

Yes I second that.

All in one is what I use on the site and it seems to work pretty well.

I'm in the same boat. I know I have to try something to improve my SEO, but I'm very much sticking my toe in the water. Can you let me know how your starting an SEO plug-in goes? If it takes a ton of time and how easy it was to navigate? Thank you!

I've been using Yoast…well I take that back- I INSTALLED yoast and didn't do anything with it like an idiot.  Last week I started going back through posts and incorporating the plugin and utilizing it.

I have a question for those on Yoast, have you used the Meta Description Template?  When you click it- it brings up a page with Titles, Post, Page, Attachment with a bunch of blank fields (since I haven't used it) otherwise it states "If the meta description is empty, the preview shows what the plugin generates based on your meta description template."  Do you have that page (Titles) filled out and also, do you fill out the meta description box for each post you do or just leave it as you wrote it in the post?

I have no idea if I worded the clearly whatsoever.

For the Meta Description Template I only have the Homepage area filled out.  For every page and post I fill out the title and Meta Description on my own.  That way I have more control over what is seen when/if that post shows up in search results.  The only area I don't bother with is the Meta Keywords.

For me all-in-one seo has been taking care of everything I need it to.  I do use a separate plugin for xml sitemaps though.  So if yoast has the same features plus more it might be worth switching.  Does anyone know if yoast does canoncial tags?

Update: I went with Yoast because I happened across his site and some of his podcasts. Joost seems like a real and genuine guy, so I went with my gut.

Plus, he wasn't afraid to come out and say why his product is better as compared to All in One.

Can't say if it's gotten me any results, but it is easy to use (though a little buggy).

I've used both & I prefer Yoast. I have no idea if it's any better as far as performance, but I found it easier to navigate and use.

I use Yoast. That said, there seems to be a long-standing issue with it an displaying titles. And the response to the issue seems to simply be "edit your theme"

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon
