Glad those books helped! I really like those two authors, even though I don't agree with the exact order that Dave Ramsey recommends in prioritizing things. But, overall, very good stuff!

Way to go! Party time!

Did you follow any specific getting out debt strategies such as the ones discussed in David Bach's or Dave Ramsey's books?

I read Your Money or Your Life which is what got me started in 2009 I think, I didn't discover Dave until I had already tackled my credit-card debt, at that point I was struggling and it gave me the boost of motivation to keep going. I did initially save up the emergency fund that is babystep #1 but since then I've mainly stuck with paying off debt so I am more financially liquid to handle emergencies if they arise. I suppose I'm not following any particular method to the letter, mainly just getting rid of debt, finding ways to cut expenses and make more money.

I'm going to continue prepaying an extra $100 a month, my goal for the year is actually to prepay a total of $5,000 on top of my regular mortgage payments, very excited to see the housedebt fall as well but my main focus in the next few months will be learning about investing and getting a few things set up with regards to investing and saving.

I've freed up quite a bit of cashflow which is really nice. Laugh

thanks everyone!

Hi,

I would suggest every one to pay-off all the debt because it also helps to get better credit score.

Thank You

Congrats, I'm super jealous. We hit a positive net worth this year, and that was enough to do the dance of joy over here. Zero consumer debt may cause an explosive (inexpensive) party.
