For quite a while blogging was providing me with the large majority of my income although I never put in full-time hours. I still consider blogger to be my main occupation but if it is going to provide me with a full-time income I'm going to have to put in a lot more hours.
I know what you mean. It does take a lot of hours to make quality blog posts. I work Full-Time, teach personal finance classes and blog on the side. If only there were more hours in the day.

I don't but it's really cool to hear that so many people do. That's definitely the dream, to blog full-time and live on an island somewhere without having to sit in a cubicle.
Glad to hear that's the dream and that your heading in the right direction. By the way, love the name. One of my favorite quotes is "Mo money, mo problems" by Notorious BIG. It is true that the more money you have, the more responsibility that comes with it. But it also means the more cool stuff you can do.

I blog full-time + overtime, but don't really get paid for it. So I'm probably not one to give advice, unless you want to take it as a guide of what to avoid. LOL
Anybody got some advice for Jen on how she can bring home more of the bacon from her blog?

All of your efforts are highly commendable! I don't think I can blog full time. I have blogged for many companies, and have worked with many bloggers as yourselves. You guys have done a tremendous job building readership, and I have always tried to utilize and make your efforts worthwhile.
This is why I helped Yakezie build YakezieNetwork.com – we're here to help you make the most of your efforts. As you know, affiliate marketing is how many bloggers make money. YakezieNetwork is bringing on the top, highest paying offers to help you make the most off your blogs.
The offers have been negotiated to keep conversions simple, i.e. get paid for a zip code, or just a simple username and password, etc.
If you haven't signed up, please do so, http://www.YakezieNetwork.com
All offers are listed there and accessible 24/7.
Please let me know if you have any issues, divya@yakezie.com

We just started blogging in April of this year, and we are quickly realizing that in order to be truly successful we are going to have to step up our time commitment. I would say that currently we spend about 10-15 hours a week blogging, but our readership is moderate. I'm curious how long it took some of you to begin making consistent income with your blog? We've made just a little bit via advertising but would really like to both increase our readership and money making potential. Obviously we are trying to jump into the Yakezie challenge but what else could we be doing? Thanks for your advice.

When I started (3 years ago), I probably devoted over 60 hours a week! I since cut back and I think I am much more productive (effective). Income was never my focus! Long term, I want consistent income to supplement my retirement (in 3-4 years). I am still working on this part of it.

My husband and I paid off all or debt at age 34 so I got to quit my job to be a full time blogger.
