Hello everyone, for some reason, I feel like I'm walking into a game that is almost over.  I just joined the Yakezie challenge and my current (4-9-13) Alexa rating is at 181,256 (www.ubersteward.com).  I just started this blog about a month ago.  I'm not sure why my Alexa ranking is so high, but according to Site Stat, I'm not getting much traffic yet.

Anyhow, hope to talk to everyone here soon.  Cheers

Welcome and good luck.  I don't think 181K is high at all.

I see. Just that my other site took very long time to even get to 200K mark.  So I basically blog about 4 times a week and stay active on building my blog and in 6 months what happens?

I'm still kind of fuzzy about this challenge, can someone clarify exactly what I can do more to fully utilize this challenge in building my blog?

I excited to see 2 responses already! :)

Welcome.

Get to know people. Answer questions that you can contribute to. It's fuzzy because you are new but ready. Open up a website. Comment. Connect. Make friends. Then it becomes very clear.

By the way your alexa ranking is 2 million plus. Not 181k. Don't just look at US.

Welcome! I've been here for two months, and as Jai says it gets more clear as you go along. The key is just to build relationships with other bloggers.

Hi everyone,

Yes, my main goal here is to make some new friends and learn some new things. I am part of the challenge too but I'm just going to try and focus on enjoying my experience as a blogger. If I focus on that Alexa score too much, it's going to drive me nuts! It's a good motivator but it can't be why I blog.

    Enjoy your time here!

The Alexa rank is what new challengers usually focus on, but us old farts (I was inducted 6 months ago, do I qualify for old-fart status yet?) will tell you, the point is about building relationships. So go ahead and start commenting on member and challenger blogs, and don't be a stranger here in the forums! Do that, and your ranking will take care of itself. But if you can't name at least 10 Yakezie bloggers that can vouch for you when you apply for membership, you won't get accepted, even if you have an Alexa that rivals Google.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Welcome aboard and already being under the 200k mark with your Alexa rating is awesome – can only continue to get better from here Smile

You should also create a Yakezie signature with your blog and social links

Yes, I just found that out… Lol. BTW- how do I create that little box everyone seems to have. I tried modifying the signature section but nothing happens. Do you put HTML in there?
