Payday Loans…has anyone blogged about these horrors?

I am in the middle of a payday loan nightmare and am in the process of writing a blog post about my nightmare.

If anyone has blogged about these I would appreciate the link.

I tried to do a search but didn't have much luck.

I would rather support my Yakezie friends before hitting Google.

Thanks

Melissa

How funny. I just finished reading your blog post about it (and a couple more). I came across it from MSN.com

Bookmarked your site to read some more later.

How to Escape the Evil Clutches of Payday Loans

Nice article, Andrea! And, I think I must be super tired because I could have sworn I clicked on someone else's link to get to this article, then I couldn't figure out "why Andrea was commenting so much on this person's site."  LOL  I think I need to hit the hay!  Confused

Here's mine: Avoid Payday loans

For about a year I had an arrangement with a local credit union where I was their in-house financial advisor.  One day this lady walked in and needed help with her finances.  Turns out she had 6 payday loans with one of them having a 521% interest rate.   I was floored.

I published a guest post back in April on the topic. Why Short Term Loans are a Bad Idea.

Last month, I was contacted by a payday loan company that wanted to advertise on my site. I took one look at their site, saw 3001% APR and ran VERY far away.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Payday loans are loans which allow a borrower to acquire a small amount of cash with a high interest rate. However, despite the high interest rate, it has been found that this kind of loan is very helpful in settling debt. To know more about how you can settle your debt with payday loans, check out http://goarticles.com/article/…..ns/6963001

Your link doesn't work but I disagree that they are helpful.

I am in the middle of my own payday loan disaster and now am having a hard time paying it back.

I have other bills that come up and have to keep renewing the checks/loans.

Maybe you can make your link work?

Some American and Canadian states seem to have the right idea when it comes to payday loans. Am I right in thinking there is a maximum number of times you can roll over a loan and capped interest?

We have NOTHING at all in the UK. Debts can be rolled over continually and interest rates are up at 6000% apr. They are a vicious burden upon society IMO. Yet, I speak to people who swear by them to survive. It's a sign of the harsh economic times when banks won't, or can't, lend money.

I feel sorrow for people trapped in the cycle of payday loans.

I've done a post about my payday loan experience, but my experience was a positive one. Although a payday loan worked for me I still think they should be avoided if at all possible.

Time and again it helped people, those actually used the option carefully. But many people never wise enough to rip the benefits and slip to the ocean of poverty.

I've also been there, done that. I have written about them before and they are a nightmare. The sooner you can get rid of them, the better. It's really awful that they are legal. Here's my link:

How to Escape the Evil Clutches of Payday Loans

I wrote an article about how much I hate payday loans. They ruin people's lives and it's about time there was a change. I've compared the difference between the US and UK payday loans but I'd appreciate other input, since I don't live in the US :-)

It seems as though people have had both good and bad experiences with Pay day loans. Proving to be rather helpful for some yet a complete disaster for others.

Does anyone know what APR actually stands for? Either way I don't think 3000% is a good thingConfused
