Hi Everyone!
First off, I'd like to say sorry for not continuing the Best of the Best series. Those will be happening again in the coming week. Been really tied up with the new design and cleaning up the server.
We recently just relaunched banknerd.ca to be more user friendly and in line with a blog. Before people were confused if we were a newspaper, a website or a standard blog. We wanted to correct that. We also had a crappy theme before that was very clunky in the code, slowed down the website tremendously.
I've been hearing a lot of positive feedback from the new design. But I am sure that is a lot of fluff and people just trying to be nice and not tell the whole truth lol.
I'd really appreciate any feedback you have on the site, both positive or negative. We do have a few glitches on the site which should be addressed later tonight.
Thanks everyone!

The site looks good. Looks like one of the headers isn't coming in for me though, but that could just be my computer – it's a little old…

Nice soothing colors! There is some image in the middle of the banner missing.

Nice design! But I see a missing image in the middle of your banner as well.

Thanks guys! The image you all are talking about is currently a place holder for ad space. Haven't finalized what ad management program to get. I think I will end up getting OIO publisher but I am thinking I might just go straight for double click.

I like it. Was this a custom code job?
One thing I noticed – and maybe it is supposed to be this way – there are empty squares under the "Bank Nerd CA area to the left of the post title when I first pull up the page. Those disappear after I click inside "most viewed" 'hot topics' or 'comments'.
I especially liked the listings at the bottom with post titles for the various categories.

The lowest space on the right sidebar has some funky squares with missing image error. Other than that it looks good.

I think it looks good and it's easy to read all the current articles having them on the home page. The only thing that looks a little odd is the article that's missing an image just below the main article summary. There's an empty box there. I wonder if you could create a default icon that auto fills that image box.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Greatly appreciated.
Many of the glitches you have all asked for have been updated (a majority of them at least lol). We have also finally got the ads up (sidebar ads seem to be a bit glitchy going to the OIO publisher ad management program).
I also agree with the image comment (lots of white). As the site publishes more and more content those posts will disappear.
The good news is we are no longer eatting up a crap load of bandwidth, thought for a moment we'd need to go to a dedicated server (which we will need to in a few months regardless).
The new newsletter design will also be launching soon. Stay tuned for that! :)
Once again, thank you very much for the suggestions.

Looks great! It took a little while to load though. Are you using a plugin for performance?

I just checked it out. The tabs in the header are covering up the first post.

I had that same problem, but once the subscription popup appeared and I closed it, the tabs went back to normal. Maybe it's something in the code for the popup that's causing it.

When you post links to our articles (thank you!) you still have our "sunset" image header. Please swap that out with our much nicer newer version! I've left a few comments on those round ups but no luck yet … :)

I love the new layout..and the little Canadian piggy bank (then again I'm a sucker for cute things like that!)
It all looks so clean and put together, congrats on the new layout!
