I caught about 25 minutes of it before having to go to a concert.

It seems like Mitt had a much tighter delivery and had more concrete points.

Intrade (betting website) had Obama tank 11-12% during the debate.

Who do you think is better for your personal finances, and why?

I don't believe a word either of them says so I'd have to answer 'neither' to the question about who is better for my personal finances.

In terms of the debate, I thought Romney was much more polished.  Obama stuttered his way through a lot of his answers and wasn't his normal captivating self.

I loved when they had split screen where you could see what the expression of one that was listening.  Romney's listening face looked like Suze Orman when she listens to the callers on her Approved/Denied segment.

One thing my dad pointed out is that with the popularity of early voting (34 states now?) that there should be at least one debate before early voting opens.

I think it was close. Mitt looked well prepared and Obama stammered at times.  I don't think it was enough on either side to sway undecided voters.  This is just the first debate.  The others should get more interesting.

Would you say Big Bird won?  I think he got the most press.

I watched the first hour and thought Mitt did a really good job. I'm not very political – can't say I like either choice – but I was impressed with how "down to earth" Mitt seemed after everything I've read about him (ie. Mega millions Mitt).

I caught just a few minutes of it.  But I watched Ryan on CNBC saying that the goal of the debates was to show people they had a 'clear choice'.  In the few minutes I watched of this debate, both candidates seemed to be promising the same stuff.

News analysis I watched last night thought Mitt won it hands down.

Here's my analysis of their performances:

When Romney gets frustrated with something Obama says, he goes into aggressive mode.

When Obama gets frustrated with something Romney says, he goes into "omg, do I really need to explain to you again why you're wrong?" mode.

Good point GYFJ.

Man, we really need Big Bird. Going after Big Bird is another misstep by Romney. Promise more, not less to get votes.

One of the polls that's been tracking these things for a long time found 67% Romney and 25% Obama as to who was the winner, the first time that the 60% mark has been crossed since 1984.

I think Mitt lied better than Obama.

I think we all need a little government vaseline to ease the pain. Take a look and you will see what I mean.

I did a write up on one of the most controversial topics around this election. I would love your comments on it: Wealth and Taxes in America.

Eric – I think you might have the makings of a whale post on your hands.  I just commented and could feel my blood start to boil in the process!  Surprised

I don't think you can trust either of them in what they say, as they both want to sound like the best choice so lies are bound to be told in order to achieve that.

But as jaicatalano mentioned i think Mitt lied the best Wink
