Jana, Here is a short skinny on the carnivals

What carnivals and what to submit?

Based on the carnivals, it can be any PF you wrote in the last 2 weeks. Some carnivals are "theme" as you see below, but a lot of them are generic.

Carnival of Personal finance (weekly, every Monday) : Anything personal finance. The post you submit to CoPF cannot be submitted to any other carnivals.

Totally money blog carnival (weekly, every Monday) : Anything personal finance. You can submit the post submitted to other carnivals.

Yakezie Carnival (weekly, every Sunday) : Anything personal finance. You can submit the post submitted to other carnivals.

Carnival of passive investing (monthly) : Posts on passive investing. If you don't have any posts for that month, just don't submit anything. Anything other than Passive investing posts won't be selected. I like this carnival because this one makes me write at least 1 passive investing post a  month :)

Carnival of value investing (monthly) : Posts on value investing. You can submit the post submitted to other carnivals.

Festival of frugality (weekly, every Tuesday) : Anything personal finance. You can submit the post submitted to other carnivals.

Best of money carnival (weekly, every Monday) :Anything personal finance, but includes only best 10 posts (judged by the host), so make sure to submit your best. You can submit the post submitted to other carnivals.

Tax carnival (monthly) : tax topics only.

Carnival of Debt Reduction (weekly) : Debt reduction. The post you submit to CoDR cannot be submitted to any other carnivals.

When to submit?

The deadline is usually a day before the carnival goes live, but carnival hosting takes a LOT of time, so I try to submit by Friday night for weekly carnivals.
