No, they don't ask for permission, but if they send some traffic my way and it's a decent site then I don't mind. I have a creative commons license that allows reuse, with attribution. In fact, it was my friend who noticed the first time around when I started getting a bunch of traffic. ;)

Congratulations Kevin! A Daily crux pickup is a nice 4 to 5k traffic surge.

Contrarian Investments, huh? The term in itself is not spoken often enough. This post will probably continue getting hits. Good job–again–Kevin.

I totally agree! Well… when February comes, we can write about dating or relationships … Anyone has any ideas for January? I am really reluctant with poetry. I am so not a poet. LOL

I like these group writing themes.  I think First Gen has an idea for Valentine's, but I'd be up for one or two of these every month.  :-)
