I just noticed that many blogs have been "copied" into one site: http://www.investmentstrategytips.org/
What can you do in this case to remove yourself from the list? will you be asking for that?

I generally just ignore them as they are crappy sites that will never likely beat me in any rankings or readership etc etc….. Google are aware of these kinds of sites so I don't think the result in any penalization….

You can go through the DMCA takedown procedures, but it's rather cumbersome and has mixed results. Most of the time, they pull your content from your RSS feed, so I've got a plugin that throws a little bit of text and a link into the rss feed before the content of the post. So, now each one that they steal, has a little bit of text saying it came from beatingbroke.com with a link to beatingbroke.com. Google isn't going to penalize you, I don't think, but you might as well get the backlink if they're gonna use any of your content.

I've seen that text on your feed and I didn't understand what the point of it was. Now I do. Can you post the name of that plugin?
Thanks!

It's a plugin called RSS Footer from Yoast. http://yoast.com/wordpress/rss-footer/
I know that there are likely fancier ones out there, but this one does the trick.

Thanks! I'll try it out when I get home. Getting tired of finding these blogs that steal my feed!

I have been using RSS footer for a long time. It is a place to put a link back to your site and anything else of value. I put an affiliate ad in mine RSS footer in addition to a link back. The link also drives a little extra traffic to the site from your RSS subscribers.

I do the same thing Narrow Bridge. I have found sites that copy my content word for word so I include a link back to my site. This way it will drive traffic back to my site.

I had never experienced this until just a week ago.
I was testing Google search for my page and found this Nigerian website with my post on it.
So weird.
Just added this plugin. Thanks for sharing it, NarrowBridge!!

Actually these blogs have not been copied, they have been syndicated.
They are syndicated using RSS feeds (Real Simple Syndication) and I have
written permission from each blog.
Please get your information right before accusing others of infringement.
All blogs for Investment Strategy have received written permission.

let the internet Gods (google et all) punish them -
however, in the event they are syndicated – it only works to your advantage as it expands your reach
