Hi all,

Not trying to be discouraging, but here's my take on my dream of being a full time blogger.  Would love to hear your thoughts!  Laugh

Pro blogger? I can't even imagine being a full-time entrepreneur. I can't say that I really want to, either.

I've got a few projects for extra income (hopefully blogging will become one of them). But at the end of the day, I prefer working for somebody else over being my own boss.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I can say without a doubt I don't want to be a full time problogger. A brief flirtation with the idea during a period of unemployment made that clear to me. I do love being a part time blogger and getting some monetary benefit from it though!

I agree, I wouldn't want to be a full time blogger either.  I like doing this on the side because it is completely different from my day job and it is a hobby to me, plus it is nice to have a side income, but I like what I do for a living too much to leave it and focus on blogging.

Very interesting!  I think about this sometime also. I would like to travel a lot more and have a traveling blog.

I thought I was the only blogger in the world that didn't want to go out on my own and blog fulltime, so I'm so glad that the people above me don't either! I love blogging, I just don't know if I'd love it if I had to do it full-time for my income.

I see blogging as yet another way to diversify my income. Do I want to be a full-time blogger? Sort of, but then that would imply that's all I want to do. There's so much more to content creation and distribution than blogging.

Hmmm I think doing it full-time would totally take the fun out of it for me!

I get turned off doing something if I have to do it. I would prefer to blog part-time for the foreseeable future, at least for now. But who knows. Maybe I'll make it a career once I'm done with my current career.

I don't think I'll ever go pro.  I've freelanced in other fields and paying for your own benefits and having huge taxes due April 15 sucks.  I'm all about reaching for the stars and going as big as I can part time, though!

I never got into blogging for money, that comes on it's own. but the amount of hours and days and hours put in, is beyond explanation!!!!

With kids it gets even harder! It's a tough decision, and one you need to make. I never really had a job for anyone. And blogging for me came naturally and came at a time when I had a little money stashed away and time.

My real money blog is my travel blog, but now I'm getting into the personal finance blogger, which is not at all about making money from the blog, but mainly keeping me motivated to learn all about investing, sharing the journey with people, and hopefully make money from the actual investing rather than the blog. But, I won't turn away from the money :)

Good article Buck. FT blogging doesn't seem like the right path for me. I want to spread my personal finance and investment knowledge and experience and make some side hustle cash!
